As soon as I heard the bell, I fixed my stuff. I gave my wristwatch a glance and hurriedly went out of the classroom. I was about to make my turn when a hand grabbed my wrist. My eyes immediately rolled as I smelled a familiar scent.

"My answer is still no. No as in N-O" He made face as I emphasized him my answer.

"And why is that?" Do I even need to explain to him why is my answer a big no? I mean- duh?

"Just because" I answered him nonchalantly and left him there, slightly shaking his head. I mouthed my goodbye and went home.

"Party is almost starting. Get change" I nodded at my mom's command and made my way to my room. Okay, Zoe. Here we go again. I heaved a deep breath and put on my peach silk tight dress. With my hair in a messy bun and my light make-up, I am ready to go.

"So, is this why you said no earlier?" I sipped my drink and looked at the man beside me in a dashing suit. I nodded and roamed my eyes at the whole venue.

As I roamed my eyes, a familiar man caught my attention. I slightly tilted my head when I felt a sudden tingling pain and fortunately, it stopped. What was that? I tried to look for that man again but he was no longer there the last time I took a glimpse of him.

I shifted my gaze to Klaus, now sipping his drink. He raised his brow when he noticed me looking at him. "You wanna kiss?" He joked.

"I don't kiss friends" And will never dare to kiss a friend.

"Will you be my girlfriend then?" He flashed his playful smirk while his fingers are tracing the lips of the wine glass.

"Sorry. Too low for my standards" He chuckled and went to his friends.

Since I haven't saw any familiar faces from my school, I fished my phone out and texted Leah. Frown formed my lips when she turned down my invitation. So it's only me now, huh? I occupied a table for three and surfed the internet.

Mom is busy entertaining the guests and so as Dad. If only I can ditch this party. Well, I actually can but what am I supposed to do? Where am I supposed to go? As much as I wanted to go ditch, I don't want to give my parents another headache. They had enough of me and my not-so-good records this week.

"They really are different, huh?"

"I prefer Zea than her"

"Oh, sis. Same"

"She got a feisty attitude maybe that's why she only got few friends. Poor soul"

"Few? Pffft! I thought she only have Leah?"

Feisty attitude, huh? My, my, my, let's see. I stood up and went to their table. The audacity to talk behind my back given the fact that this party is ours and they are just mere guests.

"Hey!" I greeted them.

They stopped blabbering and slowly lifted their gazes on me. I plastered my sweetest smile and sat beside Charli, if I'm not mistaken.

"I overheard your conversation. I'm really sorry" Take note of the sarcasm. My brows furrowed when they stayed still in their seats. I want to burst out my laugh but uhm- maybe later.

"So.." I paused and darted my eyes on Caila. "So, Caila, I heard you have a new toy uh- I mean, new boyfriend. Sorry, my bad"

She was about to stand up when I grabbed her wrist. Can't she see I'm talking to her? Jeez! "Are you deaf? I'm talking to you. Sit down" I glared at her and she hurriedly sit down. Intimidated, huh?
