I was thinking of a story idea about a girl who goes to the beach for the first time, and a few days later, when she is in the bathtub, holding her breath, she accidentally takes a breath. But she doesn't choke. When she comes up in surprise, she spits the water out, and she realizes she has become a hydrokinetic. She has a sense, in the back of her mind, that she shouldn't tell anyone. But she needs to tell someone. She would tell her best friends, but for some reason, she feels like they are the worst people to tell. So the next day, she goes to her other friends' house. He is one of her brothers' best friends, so he is a few years younger than her, but she has the weird sense she can tell him, and only him. He hasn't been the nicest to her in the past, but it's gotten better. After she tells him, she explores her powers with him. They come to the conclusion the ocean must have something to do with it. She has also made little animals out of the water. They realizes the water has a weird composition, and they wonder why.
