Not a nanny, an au pair

Nellie's POV

Once people started to recognize Jonah, he and Amy slipped out. They were most likely gonna try and go a way that had less people so they could meet back up with us.

I pulled Dan out of the way of a taxi just as it drove by. "Gosh Daniel, after saving the world multiple times, you still don't look both ways." I muttered.

He just shrugged as we kept walking, passing the empire state building.

We walked for about ten more minutes until there was barley any people around.

"Amy and Jonah should be back by now." Sinead said.

We all looked around and eventually saw Jonah walking towards us. He was still in his cover and Amy was no where in sight.

"Where's Amy?" Dan asked, worry seeping into his voice, "Is she okay?"

Jonah nodded, "Yeah, Ames is just with someone."

"Who?" Ian inquired.

Jonah took out a paper from his pocket and unfolded it, it was a picture of the wanted guy, Perseus Jackson. He pointed at the picture, "Amy is with this dude."

My eyes widened, "Amy is with a terrorist and a murderer?" I practically yelled.

"Chill out man, he's cool." Jonah said, "She just wanted me to warn you that he's coming with us."

Right as he said that Amy and the guy from the poster walked out from behind a building. Perseus had his hands in his pocket, a wary expression on his face. Amy just had her normal set jaw and calculating eyes.

They walked up to us and we all instinctively stepped back, except for Jonah and Ian.

"This is Percy, he's not actually a terrorist." Amy said, gesturing to said person.

Percy gave us a small wave and simply said, "Hi."

He studied all of us and seemed prepared to fight if we did anything. It was getting kinda akward and Hamilton broke the silence.

"Do you fight?" He asked.

Percy turned towards him and nodded, "Yeah, you?"

"Yeah, we all kinda had to learn."

I, being the amazing person I am, stepped forward. "You look like you haven't eaten for days, lets get something in you, mkay?"

He nodded a little skeptically. "Sure, why not?"

"Maybe because Amy and Dan have the worst luck ever." Ian commented.

"I could give you a run for your money." Percy muttered.

I gently placed my hands on his shoulders and led the kid towards the nearest restaurant.

"We'll get something cheap here then eat on our jet okay?"

"People are gonna recognize me." He said, "We'd need something to distract people so they aren't very focused on me."

I smiled, "I have a good distraction. Jonah, give Percy you're hoodie and sunglasses. You are our distraction."

Jonah smiled and gave Percy his hoodie and sunglasses so no one recognized Percy.

"Good." I said, "Now go sing a song."

Jonah ran into the treets and sang some high notes, immediately catching the attention of some girls who all screemed, "OMG IT'S JONAH WIZARD!!" Which turned more than a few heads and pretty soon Jonah was singing accopella for a huge crowd of people.

It was really quiet but I thought Percy muttered something like, "Apollo cabin will be so jealous."

I ignored it and we went into the nearest restaurant and ordered some food. The lady serving food barely looked at us as she was so distracted trying to get a good look at Jonah Wizard from a window. She handed us the food quickly and ushered us out before we could pay.

Percy ate happily as we all made our way to the jet. Once we were settled in I offered Percy a variety of snacks as we waited for Jonah to get back.

Finally we heard the screams of the paparazzi and Jonah yelling, "Goodbye New York!"

Jonah ran through the jet hatch which quickly shut behind him.

"So much for a vacation." Ian mumbled.

I just rolled my eyes and started eating an apple.

"So uh, what are you? Everyone's chaperone?" Percy asked me.

"I guess yeah, but I mostly take care of Amy and Dan."

"Are you like their older sister or something?"

"No I'm not related to them or anything I just am in charge of them and have guardianship over them." I informed him.

"So you're their nanny?"

"No. The term I use is an au pair."

Percy blinked. "So a nanny?"

"No, an au pair."

"Yeah, that's basically a nanny. My girlfriend is super smart and goes on and on about random things, she once told me what an au pair is. A nanny."

"You have a girlfriend?" Sinead asked, slight dissapointment seeping into her voice. Someone's got a crush.

"Yeah." Percy got a dreamy look in his eyes, "She's the smartest person I know. She's always wanted to be an architect and she does anything she sets her mind to. She's got these gorgeous stromy grey eyes and lovely blonde hair."

I sighed theatrically, "Ahhhh, young love."

Percy laughed, "Oh, shut up."
