the rain was heard outside, quiet patters slowing down as y/n awoke at 3am. They couldn't sleep, the stress of the festival within the next eight hours forcing them awake. They went down to their kitchen, pouring themselves a glass of water and sitting on the small observation area, showing the sparkling stars and grey clouds. They took their phone and played a quiet song, as they quietly sang along.

"As the hours pass,"

The time seemed to pass quick, every minute seeming like an hour.

"I will let you know, that i need to ask, before i'm alone."

Oh, how alone they felt. So alone. Apart from
their cat. Their cat had been with them for over three months now, as they looked down to see her, jumping up onto Y/N's lap.

"How it feels to rest, on your patient lips."

Y/N stood up, the pitter patter that was once heard had faded away, as they put the glass into the sink. They walked back on the cold marble floor to their bedroom, where they blew out the candle they forgot to put out back when they fell asleep earlier. The smoke travelled from the candle to the slightly open window, quickly escaping. Y/N watched it.

"To eternal bliss, i'm so glad to know,"

Y/N rolled onto the bed, covering themselves.
They drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, they had slept well, not a doubt were they tired though. They got up yawning, sniffling. Walking over to their desk chair, which they had their gaming setup in front of them. They didn't really stream, they just played some days.
They picked up the clothes hanging on the chair, getting changed.

Wearing a light green/yellow flannel, over a white shirt and black cuffed jeans, they picked up their guitar, put on their shoes and threw their car and house keys into their small bee handbag. Quietly closing the door, they said a quick goodbye to their cat, and walked down the stone steps of the apartment complex.

"It all started on a day like any other

They unlocked the car which stood at the carpark nearby, watching the slow sunny days change to the autumn colours, piece by piece, detail by detail. As they got in, putting the guitar in the back along with their handbag on the passenger seat.

Y/N plugged in the aux, tuning out the traffic.

"And my chest though it ached there was hope

Y/N thought, about the smiling faces they used to see everyday whenever they'd preform in front of their family.

Driving slowly, the destination inching closer second by second, they sighed. Ran through the lyrics through their head, calmly rehearsed the notes in their head, though they really didn't need to. A stupid grin on their face as they got excited, the adrenaline kicking in. "Let's go!" They exclaimed to themselves, slightly hitting the car wheel in happiness. They hadn't performed in months.

As they were almost there, the amount of people significantly increased, as it deemed that people were going to the festival. The excitement in the pit of their stomach just increased, quietly cheering for themselves.
