*Flashback*
*First time Dean and Sophie met*
*Young Dean's POV* (15 years old)
I was checking out the girl that just moved in next door. Damn she was cute. Soft-looking brown curls. Brown eyes. Wonder what her name is. Wonder if she's single.
"Dean." Sam said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Huh? What?" I asked, fixing my eyes on that cute girl. He waved his hand in front of my face.
"Hello? I said we should go introduce ourselves to her." Sam said, annoyed at the fact that I wasn't paying attention to him.
"That's a good idea, Sammy. Let's go." I said, trying to hide the blush that laid beneath the surface of my cheeks. As we walked over I had to say it. "Dibs." I said, while pointing at her subtly. Sam rolled his eyes.
I strode over with confidence. "Hi there." The cute girl said, smiling sweetly at me. Her brown eyes were fixed on mine. "I'm Sophie. Sophie Rogers. And you two?" She asked, shaking Sammy's hand and then mine. She held mine a bit longer before she released it.
"I'm Sam and this is my big brother Dean." Sam introduced. Her eyes widened. "Big brother? Interesting. You never gave me a last name though." She replied, bringing her eyes back to my face.
"It's Winchester." I said, smiling confidently at her. "I like it. Got a nice ring to it." She said, quickly glancing at Sam before back to me.
"Anyways. I just moved here from Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised there. I'm here with my Dad, little brother Brandon, and my cousin Noelle. She's unpacking with my dad. I forgot to mention that my dad is a preacher. And I'm 14 by the way." She explained. Wow. Didn't peg her for a preacher's daughter, but okay.
"I'm 15 and Sammy here is 11. We live with our dad too. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your mother?" I asked, wanting to know more about her. She seems so interesting.
"She died from cancer when I was 4. I don't remember her much, but I know her more than my little brother does. We're also 4 years apart. " She explained, avoiding eye contact. Must be a very sensitive topic.
"Wow. That's rough. We also lost our mom when I was 4. House fire." I said, trying not to give too much detail. What she doesn't know, won't hurt her. She gave me a sympathetic look.
"I'm sorry for your loss. I bet you and your mom were pretty close too." She said, offering a small smile. "Yeah. We had a uh good relationship." I replied, returning the smile.
"Well. We better head back to our house. Nice to meet you, Sophie." Sam said, ruining the moment. I was just about to get her number too. Dammit Sammy.
"It was very nice to meet you both." She replied, giving a sweet smile. "Maybe next time you two can meet Noelle and Brandon. I'm sure they'd love to meet you." She added.
"That sounds awesome. Well. We better head home. Bye, Sophie." I said, and turned to leave. She stopped me. "Bye, Dean." She said, while hugging me.
Well then. I like it when she says my name. Her hug was warm and inviting. "Here. You can have my number just in case you need to reach me later on." She said, pulling out a pen and writing her phone number on my arm.
"And Sam. Noelle is 11 too. You are her type." Sophie added. Double date, eh? Maybe. But what if she was just being nice? What if she just wants to be friends? We'll find out sooner or later.
