Mengcheng International Airport

1.45pm

Swifty chomped on the two doughnuts he received from Jade, which went very well with the Frappe he purchased. They viewed the planes, big and small, taking off and landing at the airport. It was a Saturday, which explained the crowded observation deck. This was, of course, one of the best places of the airport.

Swifty had been listening to Jade's song for the past few minutes while Jade watched on, hoping for her boyfriend to reconcile. The arctic fox put down his earbuds and asked whether she had brought along a power bank. She, too, had a fully charged one, and was eager to charge his phone. As that was going on, Swifty asked Jade, "Was that your singing?"

Jade simply nodded.

"And did you write it?"

Another nod from Jade.

"And how long did you write that for?"

"This morning," Jade spoke up. "Took me the whole morning to record a good take. And I'm sorry."

Swifty looked out to another plane taking off. After they watched the plane disappearing into the clear, blue sky, Swifty responded, "I know. That song spoke to me. I shouldn't have acted out of impulse yesterday."

"Says the white fox who had too many tequila shots," Jade mocked at him.

"Yeah," Swifty chuckled along. "Too much bad tequila. Seriously, Leopold should have gotten a good bottle!"

"Rare mistake from him?"

"Yup," Swifty smiled back. "But those kamikaze shots hit the spot anyway!" Swifty felt his girlfriend brightening up. "Anyway, Jade, what brings you here?"

"Besides apologising continuously? Your father. We want to help you, everyone wants to."

"Yeah," Swifty finished up his Frappe. "I know. I still had you guys, so the question is, 'Am I willing to let you guys help me out?'"

Jade nodded, knowing that was in the right direction. Swifty finished his last doughnut and answer the question to Jade. "Even if that means you will get hurt, we'll go through this pain together."

For the first time that day, Jade felt like a weight off her shoulders. "Thank you, Swifty," Jade replied. "Shall we watch more airplanes?"

Swifty nodded in eagerness. He wanted to let the day past.

"By the way, we're going to have a test screening of the movie later this evening, but it's only going to start at 6pm."

"Then we'll watch on. Walk inside the airport like our first date?"

"Sounds great, Swifty."

Swifty and Jade continued watching more planes taking their places at the runway. They flew off one by one, taking flight like the pair's nightmares flying away from their minds.
