A woman with long black hair, the color of a dark midnight black stood on top one of the towers of a castle. Her mesmerizing green eyes looking over the children frolicking about, hurrying to get to their respective classes and not be late.
The destruction of the war had almost been repaired, the only damage left are the scars that are forever ingrained on those who'd fought in it. Both physical and mental.
A sigh escaped her lips as she felt the slight ripple in the air, signalling her friend's arrival.
"Mistress, it is time"
The silhouette of a man appeared out of thin air, his body covered in a cloak of shadows. The being's presence brought about coldness and despair, making the very air around him seem stifling.
To the woman, it only brought comfort. The feeling of an old friend, one who has always been with her, feels...nice.
"Yes, it seems it is. I have already overstayed my time in this dimension. It is time to go back and fulfill my promise"
Flashback
A young woman lays weakly on the arms of two men. Blood flowing freely from the wound on her heart where the anti-vampire weapon had pierced her.
The two men, two of the most precious people in her life looked at her with pain filled eyes. Faces looking as if their whole world is crumbling. In a way, it was.
She hates it.
She hates seeing them like this. Seeing them so broken.
One them, a man with dark brown hair and wine colored eyes looked into her own. "Don't leave me" his voice cracked, yet he continued. "I can't live without you. I don't want to be alone once more. Please" A tear fell and then another and another, it won't stop falling.
The other one, with his ash-blonde hair and hazel eyes looked at her also. He opened his mouth, but no words came out. Instead sobs wracked his defined frame as he hugged her limp body close to his own. And in the midst of his cries, a single sentence was uttered. "I can't lose you"
The woman with her last remaining strength extended both her hands and cupped their cheeks. She smiled a small and sad smile. She knows she did not have much time left.
"I must. You both know it. I'm sorry-"
"NO" She was cut off by their scream. A scream full of pain and anguish. Her heart broke at the sound. She also doesn't want to leave them, but she has no choice.
Shaking her head, she looked at them. "Stay strong. We will meet again. If not in this life, then the next. I will make sure of it. I promise..." And with that she faded, her body crumbling into dust at the hands of those she loved.
The men screamed. A sound full of heartbreak, denial, anguish, sadness, and lastly, of painful acceptance.
Tears flowed freely down their faces as their heart breaks and crack, their world being mercilessly destroyed
End of flashback
The woman glanced for the last time on the bustling courtyard before turning and vanishing completely in a flurry of black and white light.
All the while a single thought echoes inside her mind. "I'm coming"
