The Sorting (3)

Fred taps you on your shoulder taking you out of your thoughts "Y/n, we're here" 

"Oh okay." you say nervously

"Don't be nervous just follow us, you can share a carriage with us." George smiles

"I'm not nervous." you say bluntly.

"Whatever you say, hey you never told us your last name-"

You interrupt Fred "And you never told me yours, but I can tell your a part of the Weasley family. Let's just go shall we." you say whilst getting up.

"But you haven't told us you last... name." You walked out before Fred could finish his sentence.

They quickly catch up to you and show you the way to the carriages. The three of you get into one and it starts moving straight away. The boys are chatting and joking away to each other but your too busy looking at Hogwarts in awe. You've only ever seen pictures of it, but you've never seen it this close up. 

*Merlin's beard... It's beautiful! I mean.. I don't want to be here at all, but it really is beautiful*

The boys interrupt your thoughts, again, to tell you that you've arrived at the gate of Hogwarts. You exit the carriage and start walking down the path towards the entrance of Hogwarts.  As you enter the building you look around to see hundreds and hundreds of paintings. You follow the boys towards the Great Hall.

"Erm, what do I do? I mean, where do I sit? I haven't been placed yet, I can't just sit where I want." You say to the twins.

"Professor McGonagall always gives each year a speech before they go into the hall, I'm sure she will mention something to you before you go in." Fred explains which makes you feel slightly less nervous.

"Oh okay, that's helpful." you smile.

"Anyways, you better start heading back towards your year group, we enter before you." George explains.

"Oh, right. Well I will see you guys around." You smile at them and start walking back, you see Draco and start heading over to him.

"Where have you been?" Draco questions.

"Oh erm.."

*quickly y/n think of something! you cant tell him you were with the bloody weasley twins, he will be angry at you!*

"I was by myself and I just got a bit lost, but I've found you now so its all good." you smile hoping he will believe you.

"Alright. Just stick with me, McGonagall will have her yearly speech soon" he rolls his eyes.

You wait around for a while next to Draco who is talking to Crabbe and Goyle. Ew. Finally Professor McGonagall calls you guys over for her speech.

"So, as you all know, you will enter the hall and take your seats at you houses table as you have done so each year. I expect perfect behaviour to show an example to the first years. When a student is sorted into your house I expect you all to clap and give them a warm welcome. You can may now enter the hall." When she finishes explaining the rest of your year starts heading into the hall. 

You stand still not knowing what to do until you hear McGonagall call your name, you look over to see her standing at the left hand side of the staircase and you go up to her.

"Miss Lestrange, you will need to be sorted into your house. You shall wait out here until everybody is seated. Mr Filch will be out here watching you and will escort you inside when Professor Dumbledore announces it is your turn to be sorted. You will be sorted before the first years as you are older. Good luck." she smiles and walks over to the second years awaiting for their speech.
