I gave them a sly grin and started showing them around and telling them about my plans for the Argo II.
*The Next Day*
Some people where going over the plans in Bunker 9, I was hungry.I walked through the woods back to camp, but stopped when I heard the sound of someone singing. I silently crept over to the sound and hid behind a tree, I looked out into the clearing.
I observed a lot of things at once, Will was sitting with her back against a tree looking down at the sketch book in her lap, while she wasn't drawing she was tapping a rhythm with her pencil... it almost seemed like she was taping morse-no... no she wasn't... I'm the only weird person who randomly taps that in morse code, with her hand she was messing with the pendant around her neck, I couldn't see what it was, but it was some kind of thin rock or something on a long leather chain, she was also the source of the singing, I was too far away to hear the words because she was singing so softly, but the sound surprised me.
Her little dragon was sitting on her head looking down at the sketch book, and she had a smudge of darkness across her cheek, probably from Bunker 9, that made me smile.
I figured I should consult her about me being able to conjure up fire. I started walking forward slowly, not wanting to startle her...
too late...
I stepped on a twig and it snapped, for something so small it was surprisingly loud... Several things happened at once, she stopped singing mid-sentence, she turned at saw me, her eyes grew wide, the dragon looked over at me too and jumped down to her shoulder.
Will stuffed her necklace in her shirt, and shut her sketch book, throwing it at the top of her open backpack.
She quickly stood up and threw her pack on the shoulder not occupied by the dragon, "s-sorry you startled me..." she said hesitantly with a guarded expression.
I walked closer, "oh-ya no sorry to scare you, I was just making sure- you seemed really surprised, more than most people were, when I showed them the fire, and I was just making sure your ok?"
she seemed confused, then a fake smile I recognized appeared on her face, "Oh ya... sorry-no I was just... tired and... it just surprised me, probably the same as the others don't worry..." she started backing up, "I'm going to go the cabin I'll" she pointed behind her.
"ok..." I said. She was still walking backward and tripped over a root from the tree, she blushed and stood up fast, the dragon on her shoulder seeming surprised.
"Are you o-" I started. "Ya... ya I'm fine..." she gave me the same fake smile again and turned and started walking out into the woods, before she disappeared, her sketch book fell out of her bag.
"Hey you dr-" she couldn't hear me anymore.
I walked over and picked up the book, it had a leather cover with a long leather cord wrapped around it to keep it closed.
