Chapter 12: The Source

Boruto's POV

School ended.

Everyone went outside including me and Mitsuki.

I took the Thunder Train on my way home with him.

We both sat down on top of it. The wind was blowing through my hair.

Mitsuki looked at me and held my shoulder.

"Hm? What is it, Mitsuki?"

"Pretty sure you know why I'm here," said Mitsuki, "Right?"

My eyes widened.

"The rumor, right?" I asked.

"You guessed it!" Mitsuki answered, while cutely smiling.

I blushed when he smiled.

"What are we gonna do??!! How do we stop these rumors?!" I whined.

"We stop it from the source," said Mitsuki positively while he turned around away from my face.

"Oh, cool," I said. "Do you know who started it?"

Mitsuki turned and looked at my face again.

"Nope!" said Mitsuki smiling cutely again.

I groaned in disappointment.

"Well, I guess its fine," I said.

Wind blew to me and Mitsuki's hair.

"But I have suspects," I said turning to his face.

"Great, Detective Boruto!" Mitsuki gave me an encouraging look, smiling.

I smiled back at him and blushed.

"Seriously? Detective Boruto?" I said, groaning in an annoyed look.

"Yup!" he nodded.

Mitsuki went closer and closer. He kissed my cheek and I blushed.

He's so cute I could die! I thought.

We both stood up and jumped off the train.

We had a completely normal conversation until he brought up something.

"So what if the rumor was true?" said Mitsuki with no sort of emotion while we were walking on the street.

I stopped walking and paused.

"Uhh.. What?" I blushed and gave him a confused look.

"You heard me," Mitsuki confirmed.

"Well.. If it were true," I said, "I'm not actually sure we would."

I continued walking with Mitsuki.

"Hmm.. Oh," Mitsuki mumbled, feeling hurt.

"I mean," I whispered, "Unless you want to."

Both of us blushed.

What did I just say?!?! I keep repeating it on my mind.

Mitsuki's POV

What did he just say..?

"F-Forget what I just said!" Boruto stuttered.

"Sure," I said while giggling.

He turned red again.

Now I'm pretty sure Boruto isn't sick. He always turns red when I "act cute".

I was lost in thought and heard Boruto repeating my name.

"Earth to Mitsuki," Boruto groaned.

I flinched and turned at him.

"Oh.. Sorry," I apologized to him.
