I've never wanted
Never needed
Anything quite as badly
As I need you

Not sexually
Though I'll never deny you
I just want you to hold me
And wrap me up in your arms

Thump thumping in your chest
As you breathe and my forehead
Moves up and down with it

I sometimes wake up
And feel around for you
Only to be crushed by the reality
Of the distance that binds and unwinds us

Oh and those lips
If they could touch mine but once
I'd be content with my life
For you're all I've wanted to taste
Why do I love you?

They ask this incessantly
and my only answer is
How absolutely you are my opposite

You are the most uncreative
Realistic yet absentminded man I know
You touch the earth with your feet not your heart
I am but an exception

Don't get me started on your ego
The size of the eastern hemisphere
And the continents  that make it grand
Oh my lord, I need to take you down a peg

But those flaws compliment mine
And our talents caress them
And make us better in the end
Isn't that what love is made of?

Your hands are bigger
Your heart stronger
Your mind wiser
Than mine

Put together
Make me love you
They make you mine
