CHAPTER 1:
"According to Ladybug, after the final battle with Hawkmoth, she has told us that she took Chat Noir's miraculous and left it with someone she trusts. Chat Noir doesn't remember that he used to be the hero. Here's the video for Ladybug's opinion on the matter."
Marinette walked down the hallways. For once, everyone wasn't looking at her with hatred in their eyes. They were too focused on their phones listening to Nadia's new interview with Ladybug. Marinette kept her head down and walked to class. She had Plagg and Tikki in her purse. That was enough for her right at that moment.
When she arrived at class, she immediately went to her desk to put her head down. She stepped over the people's feet trying to trip her. She didn't think anything of it. She was used to it. No one but the kwamis liked her anymore. Marinette, not Ladybug. Everyone but Lila adored Ladybug. If it was Marinette, they would turn a blind eye and continue with their lives but they just had to add something to make her life worse. Insults or injuries. Sometimes it was both.
"I actually helped Ladybug take down Hawkmoth. She had given me a miraculous and I helped her. She didn't want to tell the news that because it would be obvious it would be me. Can you guys promise me you won't tell her?" Lila started.
Everyone was quick to agree. They continued to listen to Lila talk about her adventures with Ladybug. Lila was grabbing onto Adrien's arm and leaning into his embrace. Adrien was comfortable with it. He didn't know she was lying, so he thought she was a hero. He was glad to have her like him. Alya was filming this for her blog. Her new bestie had helped Ladybug in the most known battle and had her model partner as her boyfriend. She needed it for her blog. Everyone else was just watching it with interest and asking their questions when they had them. Unless they were trying to trip Marinette, they didn't acknowledge her.
Marinette put her head down. The kwamis in her purse had come out and went to her. They were out of sight under the desk. And with no one sitting beside her, it was easier to talk to her during classes.
"Marinette, I have a bad feeling about today." Tikki told her. She just knew that something bad was going to happen that day. She couldn't say what it was, but she didn't like it.
"Pigtails will be alright Sugarcube. She has us. Plus if she can't do anything, she has the glasses in her purse to help her get anywhere she wants." Plagg reassured her.
"I know. It's just that I don't want anything bad to happen to her. She's my best holder and one the most powerful guardians there is." Tikki said, looking down.
"Thanks for the reassurance but I think I'll be alright. I have a feeling that something good and bad will happen soon. As long as something good happens, I'll be alright. After all, I might have a new friend who doesn't believe Lila." Marinette whispered back.
Lila, who noticed that Marinette wasn't making a fuss, looked over at the back, subtlety. The sun seemed to shine on the new ring Marinette happened to have.
"Guys, I lost my new ring yesterday. I think Marinette must have taken it." Lila whispered to her friends. They all collectively looked back and saw the ring on Marinette's finger.
"Marinette! Why did you steal Lila's ring? Give it back!" Alya yelled. Marinette had looked up at the girl.
"I didn't take her ring. I'm not giving her my ring." Marinette said softly.
Ivan had gotten up and took Marinette into his arms. He was holding her so that she couldn't get out of his embrace. Marinette, thinking about something they were about to do, put her hands into fists, wanting to keep the miraculous to herself.
When Ivan had taken her to the front of the class, everyone was there, guaranteed to get that ring back to Lila.
"Get the ring!" Ivan grunted.
Kim was the one to step up. Marinette tightened her grip on the ring. When he went to her hand, he couldn't get her fingers to separate so that he could get it.
"I can't get it. She won't let go." Kim exclaimed.
One by one, everyone went to try and get the ring for Lila. Marinette's grip on the ring made it so that neither of them could get it from her. Her knuckles were turning white from how hard she was holding onto it.
The class had thought of a new way to make sure she would let go of the ring. It started with punches to the gut. While she tried to hold onto her stomach with her other hand, Ivan let go of her and tried to take the ring. It wouldn't budge. While she was down, they punched the girl's nose. She made out a scream that they were sure all of Paris could hear, but she just wouldn't let go of that ring. They had just started to beat her black and blue, but no matter what they did, she wouldn't let go of that ring like her life depended on it.
Before the final hit, Marinette had blood running down her face and you could see the blood that was getting all over her clothes. She had started to cough up some blood that painfully came out. She didn't think she was going to make it.
Someone, Marinette wasn't sure who, had kicked her in the gut. It was making her cough harder and more blood came out. She was holding her stomach so that maybe it would stop hurting. Her vision was blurry and she was losing a lot of blood.
"Marinette!" One blur of black and one of red came out of her purse. Screw secret identity, they needed to know if their holder was okay.
Everyone who had seen one of those before had froze in their tracks. The others froze in fear since they didn't know what it was. It could have hurt them.
"Marinette, I need you to stay awake. I can heal your injuries. You just need to stay awake!" Tikki quickly said.
Marinette could hear her but continued her coughing. She couldn't respond. The taste of blood, her blood, was in her mouth.
Plagg was using what he was good at and made sure that they all had bad luck for the rest of their lives, some a lot more than others. Once he was done, he made sure to help try and help Marinette.
The two could see her condition was getting worse by the second. They knew in a matter of minutes that she might die. It wasn't something they wanted to happen. If anything, they were willing to try and use Wayzz's power to protect her from dying.
Plagg and Tikki agreed that Marinette needed to get away. She needed to be somewhere safe and somewhere where she could be loved and she would love them back. Since Plagg gave out bad luck, the world was unbalanced. There was too much bad luck than there was good luck. They had needed to balance it.
Tikki took the good luck she could give out and gave it to Marinette. Maybe it would keep her alive.
Using the power the two had left, they created a portal for her to go in. It would lead her somewhere where she could have as good of a life as life would let her.
It was the one time of the day where everyone was in the same room. The batcave. They had all come back from patrol and were about to change back.
What had stopped them from taking off their masks and changing clothes was the portal that had opened up from above. From it, a girl, who looked on the verge of dying, had fallen down from it.
It went silent in the room. Alfred was quick to come in and help the girl with her injuries. They were all wondering the same thing.
How did the girl get into the cave? Who was she? Why was she beaten nearly to death?
