My mum says the growl in the wall is the furnace.
But I know better.
In my closet, where I set up mini forts, there is an odd brick with holes.
In them, I store odds and ends... supplies for the camp.
I pushed the lantern (my glow-in-the-dark ring) in a little too far...
...and it fell behind the wall.
It took a while, but I heard it hit the ground somewhere far below.
And that's when...IT woke up.
It got louder...and LOUDER.
And then I realised, the holes in the wall... We're AIRholes!
And that this was the only brick wall in my house.
SOMETHING was ALIVE and IMPRISONED in my wall.
The ring...its light, must've woke it.
Who trapped it in there? Was it...DANGEROUS???
Did my mum know about it? Was she hiding it from me?
My mum says the growl is just the furnace.
But I know better . . .
