Chapter 13 The Day Before the Wedding

The month went by rather rapidly then I ever expected. Damon and Elena had been really kind to me but their is something rare about Elena. She always wants to be around Drew which kinda.....well.....it makes me jealous. Especially since she doesn't know that me and Drew are dating.  Since they came, I kinda have less time to be with Drew because even in school, I'm with Elena and well obviously I won't leave her alone even though she is trying to hit on my boyfriend.

"Drew do you want to go golfing ?" Ask Elena. Drew looked at me but I just sighed and walked upstairs to my room. It hurt that my nobody in this house knows about our relationship. It's killing me inside. Each step felt like eternity as I made my way to my room. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. I couldn't control the tears anymore. I heard a soft knock on the door. I quickly brushed my tears away.

"Who is it?" I whispered, you could barely hear me.

"It's Damon. Can I come in?"

Damon? Out of all the people the house, it was Damon. I stood up and looked in the mirror to check if my eye's weren't that red. They were a little but.......hm...I'll but on these glasses even though........whatever.

"I'm coming." I finally responded.

I open the door and Damon was standing there with a book in his hand.

"I need your help." He said as he quickly walked inside my room without even asking permission. Another Drew , I thought. Great, this better be worth my time.

" Okay what is it?" I answered

It took him a moment to recollect his thought but finally he spoke.

" I need you to be my girlfriend for tomorrow."

"W..........w-what?" I questioned. " Your kidding me right? I mean don't take it personal, your a really handsome guy but can I ask why are you doing this?"

Their was a long pause. Damon was looking down and then he finally looked up and met my gaze.

"Kate.....were you crying?" He asked. Oh no....oh no, no, no, this is the last thing I wanted.  I looked down and didn't respond. Damon came closer to me and grabbed my chin and pulled me up so that his eye's could meet mine.

"Oh Kate, I'm so... sorry, you know what, never mind, forget I ever said that. Are you okay though?" He asked.  My eye's were starting to get really watery and that's when Damon pulled me into a hug. I think that's what I needed. I needed someone to listen to me, to know that I'm in pain. I'm really not that type of person that likes to express her feelings to everyone's but for some odd reason I let Damon in to my pain. He pulled me away to meet my gaze again. He cleared my tear that was rolling from my right cheek.

"So what's the plan?" I asked half smiling.

Damon smirked a little.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked. I was about to answer his question when Drew and Elena came in and saw that Damon and I were close to one another.......... And that's when they thought the other way around. I could tell in Drew's eye's that jealous was not his favorite either.

"What are you two up to?" Asked Elena

"Oh nothing right Damon?" I said looking at Damon.

"Oh of course not I mean, we were just discussing about tomorrow and then we got emotional here and their." He said as he grabbed a tissue a blew his nose. He gave me a little wink and I tried not to giggle.

"Oh well that's nice but do you guy's want to play hide and go seek?" Asked Elena.

"Oh of course. We would love to play that."

Elena smiled." Okay so Drew, like you promised, you are going to count okay?"

Said Elena. Drew just smiled and started to count. We all went running and I thought that I was alone in my hiding place when I turned around and saw that Damon was there too!

"Hey ! This is my hiding spot!" I whispered.

Damon lagged. "So are you in? " he asked. I knew what he met.

"Sure, I'll be your girlfriend for tomorrow." I said as I gave him a half smile and waited for Drew to come and find us.
