"En-guarde"

Yanking down our mask we get into position. Swinging our swords, the clinking of the steel sword echoes of the walls in our gym. Swinging our swords towards one another, aiming me on the lower waist. Getting irritated I swing my leg hooking under his knee sending him down on the mat.

"Allez" i point the tip of my sword on his chest.

"You cheated" Alec says while removing his mask

"Whatever this was getting boring" walking over to the bench, removing this stupid suit "why are we even trying these sports" I turn around to look at him

"Because we have to have a little normal in our life" he walks over to me

"We'll never be normal" I whisper

"Hey, remember we'll bleed and fight " he says, securing an arm around my shoulder

"And die" Saying in unison "for each other"

"We'll bleed and fight, and die for each other" , in every situation we come across we always repeated our mantra. Especially when we were children and spent our days in there.

"Okay so fencing is crossed off the list. What else do you wanna try" I ask my brother, for some reason he wants to try every damn sport in the world.

"Well we already did basketball, baseball, golf, volleyball, football, hockey, waterpolo. What else?" He lists off all the activities we've done

"Don't forgot when we went to London and did horseback riding. Is that even a sport?" I ask while walking out of the gym

"Oh yeah you hated it cause you fell off the horse and it kicked dirt in your mouth and I don't know it sounded interesting when I looked it up on google" he laughs at the memory

Looking over at him while laughing, I small smile comes on my lips. My brother is the only one that can look through me and know exactly what I'm feeling, same as I towards him. To people who are close to us they see the carefree kid we want to be but to others they see the emotionless and cold hearted person we were taught to be.

Entering the living room, I drop myself on our leather couch propping my feet on the glass table.

"Any news on where they are" he asks me, handing me a water bottle. Plopping himself down on the coach next to me

"No i haven't gotten anything" looking over at him lost in his thoughts "do you think it's time to move again"

"I'm tired of running" he lets an exasperated sigh, looking at him I can see the tiredness and exhaustion in his eyes

"I know Alec, so am I. But I rather run then go back there" I start to remember pieces of my memory that happened to us there. Not knowing, my hand starts to shake and my breathing gets heavy. Pulling me into his arms

"Hey, don't go there okay. We'll leave by the end of the week okay, first you have to get information from someone, then we're out okay"

"Okay which safe house will we be going to" I pull out of his embrace to look at him

"Mayb-" cutting his sentence off, a voice appears in the living room interrupting our conversation

"Amethyst, Alec"
