"W-what are these little fish things? They're everywhere!" Ashley asked, kicking one of them off her foot as the smallfry fell back into the water. "These little shits are Salmonoids...and there's hundreds of thousands of them just lurking in the water until that obnoxious horn blows." Mahi replied as she took down one of the flyfish with the Grizzco Slosher, heading to go get another. Everyone else was taking on the rest of the bosses and bringing eggs to the basket as the quota began to make its way to the goal. Ashley, being distracted by the eggs on the shore, was nearly eaten alive by Maws until Melon pushed her out of the way to save her, taking her place instead. "GOD DAMNIT! SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF THIS THING!" Once it headed over to Isaiah, he tossed a bomb into it's mouth and it exploded, dropping 3 eggs. "Ew..Melon, you smell like rotten tuna and salt.." Isaiah held his mouth and kept himself from throwing up.
The timer went off and since they collected enough eggs and the team proceeded with the next round, superjumping back to the spawning point. The Quota was now 27 eggs as the ground began to shake a little, making them hold their ground.
"Hey..what wa-" *sniff sniff* "Ew..Melon you stink.." "OKAY I GET IT! I STINK! Christ.." The ground continued to shake and the fog appeared, their sight being limited. Jaden turned his head and saw a large tail retreat back into the ocean as the round started with the horns blaring again, everyone else getting to work. He thought he was seeing things and resumed work, splatting Salmonoids and collecting eggs. "Probably just a minor earthquake or something..Guys! There's more eggs this way!" Mahi jumped down from the platform and picked up an egg, putting into the life preserver net as she headed back to the basket trying to see through the fog.
A bit of time passed and they made it through the second round of Salmonoids, coming back to spawn once more. It was high tide and the water began to rise as the fog disappeared. In the distance, everyone could see that there was something moving in the waters.
"Do you guys...see that too..?" Ashley quietly said there was no reply. "Gu-" Once she turned around, everyone was struggling in the grasp of a long slimy tentacles binding their arms to their body and covering up their mouths as well. Zoni had somewhat managed to their pocket knife out and struggled a bit more to get it free as it fell to the ground. Ashley caught eye of it before reaching to grab it quickly, swinging her arm to slice Zoni free of the tentacles. It didn't completely cut through but it was just enough for the tentacle to loosen around her. Zoni then took the knife and sliced everyone free of the tentacles, Melon pointing in the direction of the boat which was somewhat close to them but still pretty far away. "We've got to get out of here and back on the boat, I'm not becoming that thing's seafood." "I got it! Who's got the inkjet as a special? We could use that!" Said Mahi, pointing to the packets on her head. "I've got one!" "Same thing here!" "I have it." "So...three of us have it and the four of us don't..we can use it twice and someone comes back for the others. Let's go!"
The tentacles kept coming back out of the water trying to grab them and the creature began to ram its head into the stage, trying to make it sink. They wobbled and shook a little but nothing they couldn't handle.
"Melon, you take Ashley. Fiddy, you take Zoni. Isaiah, take Jaden." Mahi said. "But wait, what about you? You can't stand on here! It's too dangerous!" Ashley said out of worry as the ground still shook. "Don't do this.." Isaiah added. "Just go! I'll be fine! Go now!" Mahi replied to her. "Come on guys, let's go. No time!" Melon picked up Ashley into his arms and started his inkjet to make his way to the boat, the others doing the same and following him. Mahi watched them and looked around for a bit as the stage began to tip over, she, grabbing the rearest think she could find to hold onto. The platform was sinking fast and the sea monsters saw that the others were escaping and turned to them. "I can't let them get hurt.."She started making splashes and motion in the waters for it to pay attention this way as it jumped out of the water, trying to bite her while the platform sunk. "Flor it! Get out of here!" "Ma-" "Just punch it! I'm buying you time!" They listened and didn't look back as they headed back to the mainland, hitting the docks as they fell out of the boat from the impact. "We're gonna sit here..and wait.." Melon said. "But what if she's d- Ow! What the hell Zoni?" Jaden said rubbing his arm. "She mig- Ow!" He yelled again. Zoni hit him each time he mentioned something and sat at the docks to wait, as did everyone else.
A few hours had passed and she still wasn't back yet, her friends still waiting at the dock until she returned.
