A New Beginning

Gather Day

After the whole "dream" incident Ivan cut back on the training for a couple of days. Both Ivan and I didn't know when the right time to leave the island was, or if it would ever come, but we still wanted to be ready for anything. Ivan went back to the main island to pick up supplies there and he left me a list of supplies to find on the island then. It was a typical supply list; water, fruit, and fish! I might have "accidentally"crossed those off the list.

As I was collecting water from a small waterfall, Selphie came running towards me. I remembered her being the first person I met when I first awoke on the island but I hadn't seen her since then, why now?

By the time Selphie reached me she had tears in her eyes. Before I could ask her what the matter was, I was being pulled against my will in the direction she had just ran from. I stopped myself from being dragged and grabbed Selphie's shoulders to calm her down. (It didn't work of course.) She begun to sob louder. I let her head on my shoulder as I stroked her brown hair. She stopped shivering and crying just enough for me to get a sentence out of her. But I had to be calm and collected.

"Selphie. Could you please tell me whats wrong? I can help." I tried to sound as peaceful and quiet as a mom would, tucking her child into bed.

Selphie took a deep breathe, but than began to tell me what was the matter.
Apparently herself and her friends, Titus, and Wakka were hanging out by the docks when strange creatures started to appear out of nowhere. Dark creatures, came closer and closer and closer. With nothing to defend themselves with but a old wooden sword, Titus and Wakka had told Selphie to run where it would be safe as they held the strange creatures back.

At first Sephie refused but Wakka wouldn't take no for an answer. "Well, be alright." He said giving Selphie a thumbs up, Titus agreed "Yay Selphie! Go find a place to hide, we'll catch up." With that Selphie decided to run, when she looked back she saw the creatures piling up on Titus and then Wakka-

"And thats when I lost it and some of the creatures where blocking my way and I couldn't help them. Thats when I saw you by the waterfall and thought you could help!"

"Of course! Common. Im sure Titus and Wakka are alright."

Hand in hand, Selphie and I ran towards the docks where the guys were. And the heartless. I materialized my Keyblade when a heartless popped in front of us and I took it out in one fair swish. Selphie looked amazed but I wasn't flattered, Im used to doing stuff like that, it's what I do. I think? After taking out a dozen heartless or so the two of us reached the dock but neither Titus or Wakka were in sight.

"Titus! Wakka! Where are you! Hello guys?" Selphie said as she cuffed her hands together, shaking. I put my hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "Don't worry, we'll find them." I wanted to believe that, but the heartless are a unforgiving kind.

More Shadow heartless were forming around us. They surrounded Selphie and I and she fell to her knees as I covered her, screaming. Before I could feel the heartless coming upon us, I heard slashing. I looked up seeing Ivan with his keyblade. I jumped up hugging him before I materialized my own keyblade as Ivan and I thrusted our keyblades at the remaining heartless. I reached for Selphies hand, helping her up. "We're in this together." I told her as I led a path, as Ivan followed.

We all ran into the shack to catch our breath, Ivan, like always, starts first "Inara? What's happened, what can we do?"
"I-I don't know." I reached for my keyblade and pointed it upward as I held on to Selphie's hand and hers to Ivans. "Stopza!" I screamed. "There that should hold them off around the shack long enough for one of us to go out and find Titus and Wakka."

"What. One of us? Of course Selphie can't go-"

"What do you mean I can't go? Whose friends our we trying to rescue anyway! It should be me."

"Maybe- but with only a jump-rope for protection its useless, only a keyblade can slay heartless properly." I butted in. "I'll go."

I reached for the door handle to the upstairs, but Ivan held me back. I glared at him and he led me up the stairs where Selphie couldn't see us.

"I can't let you go. I'm capable of going and finding Wakka and Titus, you should stay here with Selphie and keep an eye on this place."

"It's my plan and I'm going, you aren't ready to face anything."

"I stopped those heartless from taking you two! What makes you think that I can't take care of myself if I can save others? I'm not letting you go alone. It's not like it's your fault."

"I can't let you do that, besides I am your master and you do as I say and I order you to stay and keep Selphie safe!"

I turn to walk out when Ivan replied, "Yes, but I was your friend first." Ivan ran down the steps, yelled to Selphie, but before he could turn his head I was gone.
