Jacky's POV~~

The sunlight was slowly drowning through my eyelids dragging me out of my dreamland. I blindly grabbed for a pillow and dug my face into it. I didn't want to get up, but yet I did. I was meeting my friend Christopher in the village at noon. I dug my face deeper into the pillow, I stayed up till 3 am finishing Pride and Prejudice. I half-heartedly tossed my duvet cover to my right and sat up. When my feet touched the cold tile floor, goosebumps painted my bare legs.

After a few minutes of debating whether to get back in bed or not, I decided to take a shower and get dressed. It took a few minutes to wake up in the shower, it was mainly just me standing under the stream letting the water cascade down my bare back. After I dried off, I waltzed over to my wardrobe and donned a scarlet red dress and silver heels. I also put on light makeup...if you wanted to know. I then flew down the staircase to the kitchen to grab the picnic basket. I planned on just walking out into the village, put then my parents walked in. "Oh, are you going to see Christopher?", my mom questioned. I just nodded. "Well, while you're out can you pick up some bread from Martha's bakery? I was just going to have one of the chefs do it, but you'll be in the part of town." My mom continued casually. I nodded again. She just smiled an kissed my forehead, my father following.

I soon walk out the big castle doors and head towards the village. I go down my usually path, which is a shortcut through the woods. It took me the usual 10 minutes to get there, and it was worth the time. I snuck into through the back door of his shop, invisible. Chris hasn't noticed me yet, and I don't want him to. His forehead was sprinkled with sweat, his biceps, his beautiful biceps, practically crying for a break. His crystal green eyes trained hard on his work, his back rippling with every swing of the hammer, and his brown curls messy but absolutely stunning. My heart started beating faster and my palm started sweating. My grip on the picnic basket has slipped and fell to the ground with soft Bang. It was loud enough to pull me out of staring and him out of his work. He whipped and after seeing whom it was, he flashed a beautiful smile full of his white teeth and dimples that could drive someone insane. "Jacky!", he says excitedly as he wraps me with his arms. I smile and hugged him in return. While in this hug I got a whiff of something I had never smelt before, but it smelled amazing. He smelled of metal, fire, and soap, 3 completely different smell intertwining into one amazing smell that is Christopher. I felt a little weird liking the smell of my best friend, so I dropped my arms that were around his back, down to my sides again. Sensing the lose of my arms, he finally breaks the embrace and says, "So, are we ready for this picnic, you didn't make the food did you?" I scowl playfully and hit him lightly on his shoulders. I had gotten a EasyBake oven for my 7th birthday, and while we were trying to make cupcakes, I almost burnt down the whole castle. "Oh, c'mon it was funny. You managed to almost burn down the entire village....with a light bulb", cue my scowl. He laughed then continued, "Let's go Princess, I am starving." He then held his arm out for me to hook onto, he has called me Princess ever since we meet. But today it felt different. We walked back into the woods and set up our picnic in our normal spot.

After all the food was set out, we dug right in. While we ate we shared stories, reminisced on old memories, and talked about our days. After we ate, we packed everything up and went for a walk through the woods. "Do you think squirrels have feelings?", he asks in the random. I laugh and stare at him in disbelief. "What, it's a living creature and I'm sure they do but do they feel like anger, fear, or happiness?" I stare at the squirrel while I reply. "I do believe squirrels feel and have emotions. I think they get happy when they find a good acorn, and then angry if he dropped the acorn or something." He chuckles, "You remind me of a squirrel.", he admits. I just look at him questioningly. "Now really, they are small but fiesty, like you." I giggle in response. After walking midway into the woods, Chris glanced at his watch. His eyes got wider, and he whipped my direction. "Jacky, I am really sorry, but I have a deadline to meet and I am cuttin' it pretty close." He turned to run back to his hut, but turned around and yelled, "Meet me at Martha's Bakery next week at Noon." I nodded and smiled. He winked, then he was gone. I sighed and trekked back to the castle.
