No spoilers. This time it's not FGO related...well mostly.
____________________________________The Clock Tower was not an easy place to work at. (Y/n) was always having to deal with something whether it be delegating orders to the mages who were assigned missions that week or simply paying a visit to the classes taught there. He had no specific job description and was only kept at the Clock Tower because of his servant. Being the lone survivor of a gruesome grail war, he became someone that the Mage's Association wanted to keep an eye on.
(Y/n) didn't mind it. In fact, he offered to work for them and have his servant participate in some of the missions given so that she wouldn't be bored. Sometimes, on days like this one, he would regret that decision. "This job is so...boring." Mordred was probably having all of the fun out in the field.
Currently, (y/n) was sitting at the back of a classroom that he was assigned to monitor that day. He personally knew the instructor since he was also a fellow grail war survivor, so (y/n) never bothered to actually do the report like he was supposed to. Lord El-Melloi II always recieved perfect reports no matter what state his class was in. And luckily, he was actually a good teacher because his students performed as well as the reports claimed. But that was besides the point.
(Y/n) was bored of watching his class. Every now and then, something interesting might happen, but today was not one of those days. Today, (y/n) had his head propped up on his arm and pen in hand as he slept through the whole class. His shades kept any curious students from figuring out his little secret. He perfected his act without even using his magecraft, so that it really seemed like he was judging everything the instructor did.
The very second that class was dismissed, (y/n) awoke from his sleep and was ready to leave. Only out of courtesy to his friend did he actually stay to at least speak. "I don't see how you do it. I'd have gone insane if I had to be a teacher," (y/n) said as he approached his colleague. Lord El Melloi II turned to face him with the beginnings of a smile forming on his face.
"You are just lazy. But I guess you would never be the teaching type either way," he said as he handed (y/n) a stack of paperwork. "Try not to overwork yourself. You seem worse off than I am."
"Yeah, I've been skipping out on sleep to finish things before this deadline. Don't worry about me though. It's my fault for procrastinating this time." (Y/n) took the paperwork and scratched his head a bit. "If I miss this month's check in with Mordred, they might turn on us...haha."
"Right, that servant. You shouldn't take those check ins lightly. Missimg just one could cause you great turmoil," El Melloi II said. (Y/n) could sense the slight sorrow behind his words. The rider class servant that he had become friends with in the holy grail war that he'd participated in did not survive it. (Y/n) didn't know many details since El Melloi II hardly ever shared information on the matter to anyone, but (y/n) did know that it greatly bothered his friend when such matters were brought up.
"Look at you sounding all wise," (y/n) joked. "I'll make sure to keep in compliance with the association's guidelines. I wouldn't want you or your students to have to come hunt me down or anything."
"That's not funny..." his colleague mumbled with a slight pout.
"Chill out every now and then, man. I'm gonna have to drag you to my place so you can get a taste of the real life. I just got my hands on that new console." (Y/n) grinned when he saw his friend's eyes widened in surprise. "Come by and get your ass kicked some time. I might even go easy on you every now and then."
"Heh, you're funny. There's no way you can actually beat me in any game. You've never gotten a single win against me," El Melloi II almost laughed aloud at such an accusation.
