Small paws trampled over each other, trying to reach the moss ball that was tossed in the air. "I'll get it!!" Called shadowkit . The small slim black furred female jumped in the air. Her bright green eyes gleamed in the darkness as she came crashing down to the floor with the moss in her paws. "Give it here! You always catch it!" Meowed moonkit. The blind black and white kit didn't know any better. She struggled enough not being able to see, but she was feisty. Suddenly the moss ball was tugged out from under her paws by mousekit. "You weren't running fast enough!" She said, her mouth muffled with the moss, running towards the goal. Her hazel eyes gleaming for it. "Neither are you!" Exclaimed hawkkit, tackling his little sister to the ground. His hazel eyes peering into her to scare her so she would let go. "Get it coconutkit!" He called, struggling to hold the squirming she-cat. "I got it!" Coconut called, grabbing it from her and bolting to his goal. It was never fair when hawkkit or coconutkit had it. It was always hard to get it back from them. Making it to the goal, coconutkit jumped in the air happily, his red eyes sparkled in happiness.

Their sisters all had an exasperated loud sigh glaring at their brothers. "When can we go play with the other kits in the nursery?" Shadowkit whined as their mother and father walked in. "When your apprentices love." Spoke Bloodeyes, their beautiful calico mother. Her green eyes gleamed with love at them. But there was always something off. "As leader of the clan, I decide where my kits go. And you stay in here with us. You have each other." Throatslasher argued. His red eyes covered with anger for no reason. Just hate Throwing the moss ball out side. No one questioned why he didn't put 'star' at the end of his name. Last time someone said he wasn't a real leader because of it, well.. they weren't seen since. "Stop bringing those nasty moss balls in here. They dirty the den. It's disgusting." He growled at them. They all backed up and went towards there mother, who was now laying down and lifting her fluffy tail to allow the kits warmth and comfort. They all ran towards her except coconutkit. He was never allowed underneath for some reason. Bloodeyes claimed there was no room. So he slept between her paws.

The sun was gone. It was dark, rainy, and stormy. Probably the worst storm the clan had ever heard. Some cats couldn't sleep through it, but the others slept better then they ever had. Woken up with a startle, coconutkit jumped up to see a large bolt of lightning. He went to back up into his mother, only to see she wasn't there. Neither was shadowkit, moonkit, mousekit, or even hawkkit. Throatslasher was outside the den, staring off into the distance. "Momma?" Coconutkit called. Running to the entrance of the den, skidding to a haunt before the rain touched his fur. "MOMMA?" He called again. He followed his fathers gaze, staring at the exit of the camp. A glance of his mother's tail disappeared into the bushes. He watched his siblings disappear with her. Hawkkit, stoped right before the bush, turning to look back at them. He said something but coconutkit was too far to hear him. Suddenly he was picked up by Bloodeyes and quickly moved. Disappearing. "They forgot about me!" Coconutkit squealed and began to run after them.

Suddenly a large paw stopped him. "They abandoned you kit. She left. She didn't want you. And neither did your siblings." He hissed. Turning him into the den. "What? They- they wouldn't do that!" He argued with his father. Terrified of the truth. His heartbeat racing like no other. "You watched it didn't u? Your mother knows how many kits she has. And she knows who she took. She didn't want you. She never will. She's gone." He told him, staring at him. "Will she be back?" He mumbled through teary eyes, trying not to cry. His throat was swelling and the tears were hard to fight back. "No. I want you to go to the nursery. Go to sweetfur. I've already spoken with her and she agreed to take you in. I won't have a crying kit in a den with me." He hissed at him. The tears began flooding when he said that. "I- I don't wanna leave you too!" He cried out to his father. With those words said, Throatslasher's giant paw rose up, flying down and slashing his eye. "Let that be a lesson. You listen to me. Got it?" He growled to his son. "Y- yes father.." he stumbled out, sniffling his tears up. Blood fell onto the floor from the deep cut.
