For December 21, here is a headcanon for Eri's first birthday at UA! Enjoy!
- Eri is 6 years old and has been living at UA for several months
- she has become close with the students of UA, as well as the teachers, so it comes as a shock to them when she doesn't mention her upcoming birthday in a few weeks
- Aizawa takes her out for breakfast one day and asks her why she hasn't said anything
- she replies that she didn't know it was supposed to be special
- this, of course, breaks his heart
- they finish up breakfast and he takes her back to UA, where he starts planning with the rest of the staff
- over the next few weeks, as her birthday nears, the staff and students busy themselves making the best birthday possible
- Eri was none the wiser, doing her best to learn as much about her power as she could
- it was the day before her birthday before she even suspected anything was wrong
- Aizawa told her that she wasn't allowed into the Class 1-A dorms the next day (her birthday) without him
- she assumed it was because of some kind of class event, so she didn't let it phase her
- but the next day, Mirio told her he couldn't play with her like he was supposed to because he was "busy"
- Nejire and Amajiki were in class, so Eri found herself simply hanging out with Recovery Girl until the end of the school day
- Eri, very easily entertained as a 6 year old, didn't mind the change
- Aizawa took a little longer to come get her than usual, and when Eri asked why he was taking so long, Recovery Girl just smiled and told her "he'll come when he comes"
- when Aizawa finally came for her, he took her to the 1-A dorms as he asked her about her day
- she answered, telling him about the new reading and writing exercises Recovery Girl had her doing, as well as the new games she was taught
- he smiled at her softly, knowing she didn't suspect a thing
- when they arrived to the dorms, the common area was flooded with light, illuminating the bunches of balloons and streamers framing the massive sign that read "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERI"
- 1-A, along with the Big Three and the UA staff were standing together under the sign, each of them holding a small gift-wrapped present, Midoriya in the middle with a large cake
- Eri didn't know what to do when she saw them all at first, looking over to Aizawa for reassurance
- he smiles at her and nudges her forward
- "it's alright, go ahead" he said
- she was welcomed to her very first birthday party with smiles, laughs, and the most joy she had felt in a while
- there were so many gifts that Aizawa had to leave and get a box to take them all home
- the class felt their hearts growing with love and adoration for Eri as the party went on
- Eri felt like she had never smiled so much, the taste of cake lingering on her tongue and the warmth of her family around her
