Tension was rife in the air of Riverdale High as the Bulldogs and Vixens prepared for their first game of the season against the Baxter High Ravens.
While most of the football players were understandably bricking it, Alice, Junior co-captain of their supporters, couldn't care less. The weighing balance of her Mother's financial situation and getting out of it the best way she could was all that was on her mind, not some frivolous half time dance number.
Amidst the stretching limbs, sprays of fragrances and demands and instructions being called out by a strict sounding Hermione, Alice frustratedly rose from the wooden bench, ignoring the pointing feet in her face, hair fluffs and Hermione's demands to know where she was going and waltzed out of the pristine girls locker room, determined to find FP and set things straight.
She turned down the narrow hall in the Sports and Gym department of the school and made her way down to the boys locker room, already anticipating the rampant testosterone and sweat stenches as she pushed the large doors open.
Just as she suspected, she was immediately met with steam wafting through the warm air and a strong stench of body odour as she unapologetically sauntered down locker room hallways, rolling her eyes and ignoring the wolf whistles, cat calling and inappropriate comments from the Football team in their gear ready for the upcoming game.
"Alice?" Hiram mocked with a smirk as he turned around, pulling his shirt over his large head as his minions surrounded him and looked her up and down suggestively. "What are you doing here? Come to give us all a good time?"
"Fuck off!" She spat fiercely, setting her eyes into a narrowing glare. "Where's FP?"
"What do you want him for?"
"None of your business! Is he here or not?"
"Someone say my name?" FP called out as he emerged from the corner, gripping his helmet in his right arm and looking deliciously handsome in his Bulldogs uniform that hugged every inch of his body and accentuated his Hercules set figure, particularly his upper chest and shoulder area, and Alice would be lying if she said she didn't think about how arousing he looked in that moment.
"You got a minute?" Alice faltered out firmly as her cheeks blushed a baby pink shade, holding her head down to distract herself from his Adonis like body and trying to mask her clear attraction.
He tilted his head towards the end of the corridor leading to the exit, gesturing for them to begin walking away from listening ears around them.
Alice's slight frown hadn't gone unnoticed. He had avoided her ever since, and she had a strong feeling it was down to her unexpected demand not being taken seriously.
"I meant what I said. I want in." Alice sternly reminded him as she walked by his side, pushing the large double doors open and turning into the empty grey hallways.
"What for?" FP hissed in wonder as the two stopped in their tracks, now facing each other as they began their illicit conversation in the open space. "You've got no business getting into this shit."
Patronising much? Alice thought as her eyebrows quirked, flicking the corner of her glossed lips as she folded her arms against her Vixen print covered chest. "Why? Because I'm a girl?"
"I didn't mean it like that." He gently retracted, his chiselled features softening as he saw the glimmer of hurt in her face. "I just meant, what do you even need the cash for?"
Alice froze on the spot, poking her fidgety tongue in her cheek as she tightened her anxiously and looked away, reluctant and embarrassed to reveal her financial situation.
"My Mom's in debt, alright?"
"Shit, that's bleak." FP expressed in sympathy. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah. She's deep in for about $10,000 and then some, and we could lose the trailer. Can't believe I'm actually upset about that." She concluded with an eye roll. She never thought those words would ever be uttered from her ruby red painted heart shaped lips.
"This shit is risky. I just don't want to put you in danger or a rough situation." He stated more tenderly.
"Thanks for the concern but I'm a big girl, I can handle it." She gloated, flashing her pearly white teeth.
He smirked, chuckling gently as he bowed his head, commending her bravery and ambition. Her ballsy and gutsy were becoming just one of the things he admired about her. "What do you even know about theft?"
"I don't know, but the $5000 worth of clothes in my closet with the tags still on might have the answer." She bragged, arching her brow cockily as her ocean blue eyes remained on his physique and broad jaw.
There she went again, stunning and impressing him little by little.
"Can you even drive?"
"Sort of."
"Code for no license?" FP questioned in a chuckle with the quirk of a brow, trying to suss her out.
"I have two permits!"
"Two permits don't equal a license." FP playfully snapped back.
"You don't have to worry about the traffic pigs when you've got a low cut shirt and these." She crowed in, lowering her head towards her chest area with a sultry grin.
FP chestnut brown orbs pooled over her body briefly as he bit down on his pink lips. This girl was so deliciously devious, and she knew damn well what she was doing to him.
"Look, you NEED me." Alice stressed, her tone falling into a little more serious territory. "Mr Lodge's car might've been seen as a one off for Keller, but as for the cars you jacked on Saturday, they're gonna be on your ass even harder now that there's an official car theft issue." Alice stressed harshly. "It's about to jump from coincidence to conspiracy. You're gonna need help to lighten the load, make the distractions and easy routes out, and I'm your girl." She concluded cockily with a head tilt, her diamond like eyes gleaming with certainty. "I know this town like the back of my hand, so what do you say?"
FP had to take a moment to process what she was asking of him, which was pretty major. His illegal activities were already risky enough without dragging some other poor individual into the mix. "You really, wanna do this?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Fine." He finally accepted, letting his protective guard down. "Come to mine tomorrow night."
They hear the unpleasant sounds of Coach Carson's whistle ringing through the halls, indicating that it was time to get out into the field for both parties.
"Good luck out there." Alice encouraged with a smile as she looked him dead in the eyes, watching those deep chestnut orbs filled with mystery sparkle before he confidently placed his helmet on, watching absentmindedly as he jogged towards the exit.
Perhaps things in her life were finally looking up after all.
