_

A slow exhale escaped your lips as you met with reality once again, knowing you had to play those abominable games in order to live.

After staying locked up in your room, barely surviving on scraps of food, you finally had walked out of your door.

You wanted to avoid the shame of meeting the scumbag that rejected your feelings a few days ago. But you still weren't ready for this.

You sigh, frustrated. This was your second last day, your visa would end tomorrow. Before, you would shudder at the thought of a laser shooting through your head. Now, you couldn't care less. Your emotions were a mess, your happiness departed upon being rejected, What's death anyways, it's probably not as bad as what you were feeling now.

You walked, eyes downcast, back hunched over. You didn't want to meet people's eyes, knowing you looked as pathetic as could be possible. You trudged to a car waiting, and sat there in silence for the whole drive.
_

Guns fired, emanating a loud boom that racked your body with shivers. You had to hide, had to get into a good spot-one preferably away from the bullets.

The game was cat and mouse, the cats were tasked with finding and shooting the mice alive, while the mice hid in different places to avoid death. This game would last for 20 minutes. The game was over once the cats killed everyone, or if the remaining mice lived after those 20 minutes.
As expected from a club game.

You looked at a nearby window cautiously, your head craning to the side to see if the surrounding area was clear. A man with a cat mask walked by, scaring you. You held your gasp, your identity being so close to being found.

You hide in your current spot, and looked around. Your heart drops.

There was a girl huddled in a corner, barely covering her cries with her hands. The man was nearing closer and closer.
What was she doing?
Don't just sit there kiddo, hide!

The man was approaching closer with each passing second. Adrenaline pumped into your heart, and you told your mind to go suck it. You ran as quietly as you could, taking the girl's hand in yours. But not after the man fired 10 shots.

One which ended right below your rib.

It hurt like hell, and you wanted to scream, but there was no time. You bolted to a hiding spot, the man still in the vicinity. You looked at the girl and miraculously, she didn't have any bullet wounds. It wasn't safe here, you knew that for sure. You told her of your plan, and she nodded, listening to your words.

1. 2. 3.

You called out to the man, and he shot once again. The girl darted out, and hid to the spot you told her to. She was safe.
You, however, were different. You waited patiently as the man kicked down the door, gun facing you. You lunged at him, punching his rib then his spine. In this moment, his grip on the gun loosened and it took you just one second to knock him down and snatch the gun.

You took it and ran, killing some of the cats while you were at it. You finally collapsed behind a building, your body drowning in multiple bullet wounds.

Huh. Bet Chishiya wouldn't have done that.

Someone was approaching, and you mentally thought that you would die right here, right now.

Speak of the devil.

Chishiya glanced at your bleeding figure, his eyes unreadable as always. His footsteps became farther and farther.

You couldn't help but smile at your situation. This was where your love got you. It never did you any good, did it?

But then he came back after a few minutes, kneeling next to you.

'Get up, put your arm around my neck," Chishiya urged. "I've distracted them, but it won't last long."

Oh? What was this?

You chuckled, blood gurgling out from your chapped lips. You looked at Chishiya with an expression full of amusement.

"You crazy bastard."
You smirk, and continued, "You tell me you'd never love me only to come back to me? That's bullshit, Chishi-"

You cough, your throat burning. The blood on your wound was beginning to take a toll only you. It's the end, you think.

"It doesn't matter, what I did," Chishiya insists.

"You're bleeding and need urgent help." He shifts, ripping your shirt up. He took the cloth, pressing on the most critical wound.

"Hey, Chishiya." You start, looking at the stars in the sky.

Somehow in this moment, the sky never looked so beautiful. In the end, you lost. You never stopped loving him, for the heart was a stubborn, stubborn thing. Your heart was unchangeable, and once it devoted itself, it stayed that way. That's how it was with you.

"You know, after all this time, I still can't bring myself to hate you," you admitted firmly, "you were honest, and I can't refute that. I guess you really wanted to reject me."

"That doesn't matter-"

"Shh." You say, pressing your index finger onto his lips. "You know it's too late for me anyways. I won't last." You gazed warmly at him, the pain in your heart disappearing. You were running out with time, and it took all your strength to finish your words.

"I love you, Chishiya. Stay alive for me, ok? I wish you all the love in the world."

You grin at him, caressing his cheek for the first and last time. Your vision hazed, and you could no longer breathe. You exhaled your last breath, content in Chishiya's arms.

And you would never know, never see Chishiya's worried expression as your eyes blurred and drifted away to lifelessness. You would never know how much Chishiya shook you, for you to come back, come back to me. Nor would you know that he cupped your cheeks with those warm hands of his. You would never hear the pain in his voice as he said your name over and over and over again as he cradled you in his arms.

No, you never felt anything at all.
And you never will.
