a soft breeze made the girl's hair flap softly, if not for the inhuman screams and exited murmurs she could close her eyes and imagine seeing the sun for the first time, although she knew it was impossible and had to keep her head in the game.
game, yeah, sure.
she lived in a place called the pit. it was violent and dark in there, so dark. every child in the pit lived by one quote, "you do it here, you pay it here". she knew it very well, having grown up with this phrase being said in a daily basis, she knew better than believe it, tho. that phrase was always accompanied by another one "an eye for an eye", she knew that an eye for an eye made the world blind, so, why was she standing in a fighting position in front of a guy with two holes for eyes? good question, if you asked her the answer, she would usually happily tell you why, but with those two eye sockets looking straight into her eyes she felt a bit off.
she was always very good, the sword felt right, her body moved with a lethal precision that would make anyone hypnotized by suck dance of death, so why was she hesitating? she didn't know
and that's when she had to duck, because the ceiling came crashing down.
