Excitement and blind fear rages throughout Emma's bones as the woman with wicked black hair gives her adoptive father a nasty snarl, laughs then grabs Emma by the throat and then around her stomach very tightly. Snape yells her name loudly like a real grieving parent as his voice fades from Emma's ears.
The grabbing of her throat wasn't the worst part, the mad woman whispers some kind of incantation and Emma realizes the two of them are apparating. This is her second time apparating, the first time she was barely old enough to remember when Snape brought her into his home at just six. But her reaction is just the same, very nauseous immediately.
The rain soaks through Emma's clothes as she comes to, she must have passed out during the transition as she can barely grasp her breath. Bellatrix laughs at her weakness and pushes her down into the ground. "I knew that man was hiding something," she breathes. "I knew the Dark Lord was mistaken for trusting him. At least you're pureblood or I would have killed you right on the spot! I hate that man, Snape!"
Emma knows better than to talk to Bellatrix. She remembers now the stories her adoptive father has told her over the years, how Azkaban drove her insane and she recently just broke out. Also how her true love is for the Dark Lord and she can't stand when the master looks to anyone else but her for help and everyone knows it, even her husband. She knows that she will probably be murdered if she says even a word to this woman. Emma looks in her eyes and sees only madness, Snape must have been right. All Bellatrix sees now is Voldemort, no one else matters.
"Why don't you stop staring at me little bitch and let's go see how you can help my nephew since you are so desperate to do so! I don't imagine you'll be alive long, he deserves it." Bellatrix says referring to Snape in a cackle and grabs Emma's arm again. She practically drags her to a huge black gate where they walk through as if there was nothing there.
The gravel driveway to the manor house is wide and has a large hedge curving alongside it. The driveway and hedge go past a pair of gates that allow only certain individuals to pass through them as if they are smoke, and with others the iron contorts into a face, which demands the purpose of the person trying to enter the manor. The yew hedge is known to have albino peacocks roving along the top of it. The outside of the manor is grand and the land surrounding it is vast, filling many acres. Those acres contain numerous types of trees and various plants.
They come to a pair of black handsome doors and Bellatrix slams them open, dragging Emma with her. The hallway they enter is large, dimly lit, and sumptuously decorated, with a magnificent carpet covering most of the dark stone floor. Eyes on the portraits watch Bellatrix and Emma as they move quickly past. They all of a sudden come up to a bronze handled door and Bellatrix pauses as if to regain composure before waltzing through it as if Emma is a prize she can't wait to show a parent.
"My Lord! I come with a present!" Bellatrix screams in delight. Emma breathes loudly as she sees all the room full of silent people, sitting at a long and ornate table. Illumination comes from a roaring fire beneath a handsome marble mantelpiece surmounted by a gilded mirror. That must be Draco, she thinks to herself when her eyes travel to the end of the room to a handsome boy with gray stormy eyes and shaggy blonde hair, her heart skips a beat, then she focuses on the end of the table. And that must be...
A deathly pale being (Emma can't say human because he is anything but that) stands in surprise at the end of the long black table, his face waxy and oddly distorted, and the white of his eyes bloody with red black pupils. He really does resemble a snake as he doesn't even have a nose. Lord Voldemort himself walks or really glides briskly to Bellatrix and Emma in a short second.
Bellatrix can't contain herself. "I found her at Snape's! He's been hiding her!"
Voldemort lets out a nasty laugh. "Bellatrix, he wouldn't do such a thing. This is the daughter of Paul and Susan Lockwood! They betrayed me!"
