Back to school

~~Josuke's POV~~

Today is the day I go back to school since the two weeks I was in the hospital, normally I would be disappointed that I  can't stay home a little longer but at least it changes scenery from my hospital room, plus I get to hang out with my friends like I did before.

I'm opening my door to leave for school in the morning and who other do I see than Okuyasu Nijimura, standing there waving at me with a big grin on his face.

"Oi Josuke! You ready to got back to school?"

"Yup, were you waiting for me long?" I say as I close the door behind me.

"Oh, no. I just got here, I was actually just about to ring the bell but then you came out." He says, putting his hands in his pockets.

"I see, better get going, don't wanna be late on the day I just come back."

We start walking our usual route to school making smalltalk, until we reach a curtain point near our school where it seems like people were waiting for us. And when I mean people I mean girls. Oh no.

All the girls seem to notice me from a mile away and start walking towards us at a fast pace, great, I didn't want to have to deal with this so soon..

"Hey Josuke!~" "Are you doing better now Josuke?" Let me carry your things Josuke!" "Josuke we missed you!~" Are some of the things I could make out, they were all screaming my name and talking over each other. It didn't take long for them to be all over me, touching me and grabbing my arms, god dammit, how do I make them go away?

I look over to Okuyasu who was giving me a look of concern and confusion, he even looked kinda annoyed. I tried to be polite and give them all a bit of attention, but it was too much for me to handle. At some point a girl accidentally elbowed me in the side where my injury was, it wasn't too hard but it still hurt, I bent forward slightly and put my hand on my side to protect it from all the swarming girls.

Okuyasu seemed to noticed what happened and quickly seemed to get angry, he turns around to look at all the girls.

"OI! do you realise what you're all doing?? He's injured and you're all tugging at him, Look! He's grabbing his side, that's where his injury is and you just hit him there!" I stop walking for a moment and look at him, he seems pissed. All the girls let go of me and have a look of terror in their faces.

"We're sorry Josuke!!" "We didn't mean it Josuke!!" "What can we do to make you feel better??" "Let me hold your things Josuke!!" I was about to reassure them that it's ok and that I was fine but I felt a tug on my arm, it was Okuyasu. He pulls me away and we just keep walking while the girls follow behind, apologising profusely. He has this look on his face like he was pissed, just looking straight ahead. I hesitated if should say anything, but I just leaned down and whispered,

"thanks man." And he looks back at me with a small smile returning to his face.

"No problem man."

We keep walking to school, trying our best to avoid all the attention of people trying to come up to me. We finally get to our classroom, since I missed out on so much I don't doubt that my classes and homework will be a pain in my ass, which I was absolutely right.

During lunch, Okuyasu, Koichi and I go to our usual spot to eat together.

"Geez, I'm sure glad I get a break from all this nonstop work" I say in a semi tired tone.

"If you need any help I could help you out if you'd like." Koichi says, looking up at me.

"Yeah, I would say the same but i'm not all that smart so I wouldn't be much help, I get confused over my own notes." Okuyasu adds, shrugging.

"Heh, thanks guys, that sounds great"

"Ok let's dig in!" Okuyasu exclaims, shoving his food into his mouth.

I chuckle a bit then we start to eat our food. A minute or two goes by until Okuyasu starts coughing profusely, I figured out that he must have chocked or some of his rice, he's such a dumbass I love it.

Koichi and I start to laugh at him while I pat his back to help him out a bit.

"Hey! Its's not funny I could've died you know!" he says coughing then takes a sip from his water.

"Imagine that, the super strong and tough guy, Okuyasu Nijimura, dying from choking on his food" I say laughing at him some more.

"I can imagine the headline!" Koichi says, pointing and laughing as well.

"S-shut up.." Okuyasu mumbles, his faces now turning red.

"Don't worry Okuyasu, we're just messing with you, i'd use my stand to save you before you choke and die anyway~" I say pulling him closer, smirking at him.

"Shut up you" He says laughing a bit and lightly pushing me away.

I chuckle and we continue eating our food.

I kinda felt something weird when he got all embarrassed there, my chest got all warm and I had butterflies in my stomach. Why does this keep happening? Am I sick or something? This usually only happens when i'm with Okuyasu though..I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, if it starts getting bad i'm gonna tell someone.

Something about him, makes me always wanna stay close at all times, maybe it's because he makes me laugh or that he's such a lovable dork or that underneath that tough looking exterior, he's just such a sweet guy. Just something about that Okuyasu, is really something special.

We spent the rest of the day like we usually did before everything that happened, working my ass off in class, hanging out and talking in the halls, then eventually walking home together and going into our respectful houses, going back to school again wasn't so bad.
