For Richer or For Poorer

Uncertain certainty points in every direction.
What will come next?
To what extent?
Do not repent.
Choice made or not.

A change must be made One of these days.
Tomorrow, today, Inevitable.
Do not delay, the facts are credible.
This leads to its cause and effect.
But direly important,
To what extent?

Try this existing policy proposal.
A paycheck.
Yet one more controversial
than the Aztec?
One thousand dollars.
What a large sum!
--to a child.
Not nearly enough for one.
One for all and all for one.
To what extent?

A periodic cash payment.
Unconditionally distributed like air trees contributed
(before robots took over).
To this I say, to what extent?

Lack of equality is not a matter to be addressed with frivolity.
Social or economic disparity.
Injustice, partiality.
Income inequality remain extremely harmful to everyone in an unequal society Terrain.
Poor public health, racial terms, and political divide.
Causing this and more, inequality must subside.
Universal Basic Income, a plan I certainly welcome,
--to an extent.

Change the change.
Edit the draft.
Now in a range I favor.
An alternative notion,
one in the motion,
to favor the ones who
need since the rich have more than plenty of blood to bleed.
The original notion
Would cause a commotion,
Leaving all right where they started.
Not so different,
only more half-hearted.
Raising every income by the same amount,
still keeps the gap at the same count.

Attaining a happy-middle
seems as hard as a riddle
regarding substitution in comparison to redistribution.
An old one-dollar bill is just as valuable as a newly printed copy,
soppy with worthlessness.
Yet, drenched with need
by those longing to be
free.
Social insurance is all the same no matter how you dress it up.
The poor are still poor with such quantity of help.
Putting the money in a differently labeled envelope will solve no
financial skelp.
Drawing back from the blow, one learns how more is not less when more is still not enough.

U.B.I.,
Thou must try
to implement thyself
atop the gadfly.
A problem so troublesome,
solution invaluable.
A price well paid,
to finally,
defuse the Grenade.
In the long run.
Return thy promise,
to withhold thy bias.
Segregation be imperative
to avoid the comparative.
At least for now,
while the fallen,
get on their feet.

With this ingredient in mind,
all is right, I find.
Rock bottom is not a problem
 when U.B.I
helps those
to reach the sky.
Automation disruption reduced.
Better living standards induced.
Employers are obligated.
Improved conditions created,
Added benefits inflated, increased wages celebrated.
Incentive to work remain,
as $12,000 a year is not enough to gain.
Unpaid labor is compensated,
As the overflowing pool “above” is deflated.
Reduced poverty leads to less crime and incarceration.
As well as other forms of social deprivation.
More consumer spending leads to more economic activity trending.
What better way to guarantee,
the material existence
of everyone in society?

Strengthened responsibility, key.
Maintained incentive, expected.
Hoped for? Vitally.
High level supporters,
invitedly.
The dark cave’s end light is bright.

According to Payne in his intelligent rendition,
“A society in chaos is the worst possible condition.”
A world I see,
with color more clear,
smiles more deep,
life more dear.
The world we know,
yet upside down
everything would come around.
The poor would live longer, while their tombstones shrink.
They’d look around to stop and think.
If the same size,
distinctions are gone.
A world finally equal,
dancing in song.
