Well, this is me, Cheryl Marjorie Fairchild Morgenstern. I know. It's a big name, but I got used to it. You'll get too until the end or I hope so. Of course until then, I have a lot to tell you. But to start from the begging, it all started years ago by my parents, Valentine Morgenstern and Jocelyn Fairchild...
Long story short, mom and dad were married from a young age and wanted to save the world from the demonic forces. My father created the Circle, an organization of young shadowhunters who wanted to help the world. But destiny had another plans. As long as the time passed, dad was losing most and most control of his actions. Mom was worried and tried to help him, but the murder of some downworlders was the last drop of the glass for her. Everything went out of control. On the one hand, dad set a fire to the Fairchild mantion and was thought he died here with my older brother, Jonathan. On the other hand, mom left Idris with the Mortal Cup to protect the world from him. Everyone thought that was the end of the Morgensterns and their disaster. But they couldn't be more wrong about it. That was only a new and fresh begging of the same old sick dream of Valentine Morgenstern...
Dad wanted to be thought dead from the fire and now used the name Michael Wayland. I grew up in Idris with Jace Wayland. I guess you already know Jace from the Shadowhunters TV show. My name back then was Cheryl Marjorie Wayland and I thought I was Jace's twin sister. We grew together. Fighting side by side. We never lose. Dad was a great trainer. I have to admit that. Everything was perfect. Even on our hard moments, Jace and I had a really good relationship as twins. We always talked to each other. He always let me in and so did I. We understood and supported each other on everything.
I had a weakness on dad and he knew about that. I trusted him and did everything he asked me for, no matter what it was. I wanted him to be proud of me. Sometimes, I was doing unbelievable things. I was putting too much pressure on myself to become better and prove him I deserved his love. Although he wasn't happy about my weakness, he was grateful of my behavior toward him.
I could consider myself as the happiest person in the world by that time. Being a shadowhunter filled me and my life. It's like I was meant for doing that. Going on missions, killing demons, protect the Human World from the Shadow World, returning home and being happy with my family. All those feelings of joy and happiness was once destroyed when I found Jonathan at the basement that night. The real Jonathan Christopher. My real brother...
