All the day, I was in the same mood and Jace tried to bring my mood up. If he only knew...

The night I slept and woke up over tears in my eyes. I stood up from my bed and went to the kitchen where Jace and dad were waiting for me to eat breakfast together...

- Jace, today, I and your sister are going to Lake Lyn again... We didn't finish what we had been practicing yesterday. Are you gonna be okay with your foot?

- I'm just fine, dad. I always am.

- Okay then.

- Why don't we go another day. I'm not in mood

I said in an ironic tone which both Jace and dad got...

- What??

- Cheryl, we are going today...

- Cher, do you actually consider getting a day off?? Did mom's death effected you so much??? I told you nothing is going to happen...

- Your mother's death??

- Yeah, Cheryl was upset yesterday because she was thinking of mom's death and that this could happen to her too...

- Oh... I got it...

- I wish you could dad...

Jace seemed to understand something weird was going on, so I cut the conversation...

- So dad... Let's go.

- I see you are hasty now. Before you didn't even wanted to go

- I changed my mind. Let's get over with it once and for all.

Dad and I left and Jace stayed alone at home. Jonathan was tied with chains in the basement from our insane father. He wanted to be sure he wouldn't found a way communicate with anyone else. At the same time, we went to Lake Lyk and made sure everyone would believe men of the Circle killed us in the name of Valentine because "Michael Wayland" my father left the Circle.

After a while, Clave's people went to our house and told Jace about "his father" and me. I and dad were hidden at the forest, while I watched Jace fall apart as soon as she hears my and his thought dad's name. I haven't seen him more broken before. I broke with him even from away. The difference was that I already was broken by dad. Jace, the brother I grew up with all these years, was the only one who kept me from falling in my knees and now he was also gone. He thought I was dead and he went broken to be taken by another family while I was getting away with my insane father, a monster, who tried to make me one too. A ten year old little girl. Not knowing what the future was holding for me...
