The air around us was thick and stale as we started our walk into the cemetery. The large doorway closed behind us as we went through, so now there was nothing left but a stone wall.

"I guess no getting back the way we came huh?" Owen said with a nervous chuckle.

Truth is yep. You can't get back in the same way, at least not that I know of. The last time I was here I had gotten so turned around I didn't know where I was. I found a sewer connection to the sewer and that's how I got out. You actually forget about the details of a lot of things until you actually are in a situation where they are important.

I glanced at Owen. He was sweating even though it was freezing down here. He kept his eyes forward and didn't say anything. He was probably going over the millions of ideas why coming down here was a bad idea. I know I didn't want him to come in the first place but I'm really grateful for him coming even though he was scared out of his mind. Heck, I might actually like him if I-

"Penny for your thoughts?"

"What?" I said snapping back. Owen was looking at me. We had stopped walking and now we were just staring at each other.

"You looked like you were having a serious conversation with yourself. So I was just wondering what was Ryan Baily so deep in thought about?"

"Oh, I was just uhh...m-make sure we were going the right way." I said nervously. I have to stop zoning out like that. It's gonna get me in trouble one of these days. We started walking again before I once again got lost in my thoughts.

"Oh okay then. Well I technically don't believe that because that was not your concentrating face. That face you were making looked more like I'm in an awkward situation and I don't know how to escape from it kind of face. " Owen said nervously laughing.

"Oh and your such an expert on my face?" I said raising an eyebrow jokingly.

"Well I guess you could say that. I mean you make very expressing faces. Like your upset face, and your excited faces." Owen said starting to show me examples. I started laughing as he did one hilarious face after another.

"Okay now I know I've never made that face before!" I said in the middle of laughing. "You are a very observant person aren't you Owen?"

"Yeah I guess. It's easier to see who people are by listening to them and looking at them, like really looking at them. Like you for instance, on the outside you look like a tomboy who likes playing sports and hanging around boys but actually when people get to know you, they realize that you like drawing and reading and doing rebellious things with other girls. It's quite easy  to see actually."

We kept walking as he talked on and on, but this time I was actually listening to what he was saying. I had no idea that I was that easy to read. "I'm really an open book huh?" I laughed jokingly.

"Actually no. You do a lot of things that most people wouldn't notice unless they actually looked inside of your brain. Like how the fact when your drawing, if you look at your eyes it's like your creating a whole story about that picture you're drawing."

I stopped walking and stared at him as he continued to walk and babble on. When he realized I wasn't beside him anymore he stopped but he wouldn't meet my eyes. I was about to say something when a sudden breeze came through. I looked past Owen to see what was ahead of us and there sitting in it's former glory was a a huge gate with thick iron bars and a key whole shaped like a skull.

"We're here." I said turning back to Owen who was still avoiding looking at me. He walked up slowly to the gate and put his hands up to the bars. He shook the bars violently but they didn't budge. He stuck his hands through for some reason. As if someone was gonna pull him through. After that failed attempt he tried to squeeze his way through the bars, and even though he was thin as a stick there was no way he was going to be able to fit through them. I thought about letting him continue to embarrass himself while trying all of his useless ideas but time was wasting.

"Step aside genius. Let the pro show you how it's done. " I pushed him out of the way and stood in front of the gate. I lifted my hands dramatically, wiggled my fingers, and waved my hands around in a circle. Owen gave  ma a "You gotta be kidding me look" but I ignored him. "Open Sesame!" I yelled. Now let me just point something out, I didn't actually expect it to work but suddenly the large gate doors started to creak open slowly. I dived backwards to avoid the gates pushing me against the wall, accidentally knocking Owen to the ground.

"H-How did you do that?" He said with a shocked expression.

I didn't answer him. I couldn't answer him, I had no idea how I did it. But before I could say anything a dark shadow emerged from the dark emptiness of the shadows behind the wall. "She didn't brainiac, I did."

We both looked over to where the gates were now fully open wide and standing there with a smirk on her face was Claudia McQuoid.
