Anxiety was running through Spencer's veins. He was so drawn to Adelie and her persona that he was actually going back to Paris. No woman has ever made him feel this way, and no woman will ever be loved the way he loved Adelie. Adelie Barnet, was the actual love of his life, and he was an idiot for leaving. And now he didn't know what to think after that phone call.

"Spencer, I need you. I made a big mistake, I need you."

He kept replaying what she said in the cab on the way to the tarmac. Hotch, thankfully gave him the jet, since they were all called in for a local case right after he left. There were so many possibilities for that call. She could be in actual trouble, god what if she relapsed, or what if she just wanted to lure him in, just to fight with him. Of course, he was being obscure for even thinking of those reasonings.

Spencer knew well that he didn't fall in love with another woman that was just using him for his presence and intelligence. And he knew that Adelie is too strong to relapse. He knew she couldn't do that to herself. And if she did, he hated the idea that he was the reason for her to do so.

The cab made a quick stop a few feet away from the jet. Spencer took out a twenty and handed it to the cab driver. He thanked him and now he was climbing up the steps to the aircraft. It was weird to fly in it alone, but it was comforting in a sense.

"We will be leaving in about 15 minutes, so get comfortable." the pilot announced from the cabin.

Spencer slowly nodded and laid down on the couch. The tan couch that was far from comfortable, but it was his favorite seat in the jet. He remembers the times where he would sleep on it endlessly after long cases, and Emily has the pictures to prove it.

He took out his phone and texted Adelie.

Spencer Reid

Hi, I am sorry, I will be there in about 10 hours. I actually left Paris yesterday.

Adelie Barnet

okay! safe travels.

Everything okay?

i can't tell you this over the phone.

Ok. I love you, Adelie. Please know that.

...

Spencer kept staring at the gray bubbles on the left side of his screen. They kept appearing and then they disappeared. Obviously, Adelie still couldn't trust him. And he is not mad at her for it, he is mad at himself for letting her feel that way.

He closed his phone and glanced at the black screen. The reflection of himself disappointed him. He did this to himself, he did this to Adelie. And now he was going to fix it, this time he will.
