Ch 5

It's been awhile and I'm finally starting to get adjusted to school. Well I still don't have any school friends but I'm doing well in all of my classes. I even got to join a sophomore science class with Edward! Speaking of Edward he found his blood singer. She's a really pretty but quiet girl named Bella who moved here from Phoenix. She's also the sheriff's daughter. Anyways Edward hasn't been very nice to her and has been avoiding her so today I thought that I'd introduce myself! Walking into the science classroom quietly humming to myself I ignore the weird looks I get and skip over to Bella with a smile. "Hi!" She jumps startled and looks at me curiously and warily. "Um hi...." I hold my hand out speaking cheerfully. "I'm Jay Cullen the baby of the family. Your Bella right?" She gives a nod then looks at me curiously. "Yeah. Your a freshman right? Why do you have a sophomore class?" I smile proudly. "Because I'm really good at science and history. So I'm in a sophomore science class and a senior history class." She gives me an impressed look and I sit down in the chair beside her. "Do you like books?" Her eyes immediately light up and I can tell by her aura that I hit the jackpot in having her open up. Soon we're both babbling on about classic novels and which is our favorites. Soon though class starts and the teacher gives me a look. "Jay back to your seat please." I immediately pout. "Sir can't I sit here? Edward is still out sick and Bella will need a partner." The teacher goes to say something when my usual partner Jessica speaks up. "I don't mind being with someone else sir. Jay can stay there if he wants." The teacher sighs but reluctantly agrees and I smile at Bella before getting started on our assignment we easily finishing it within seconds. Once we're done we go back to talking about books. "Do you wanna eat lunch with us?" I look at Bella surprised before giving a little sad smile. "The others probably won't like that." She gives me a confused look before pleading. "Please? It'll be nice having someone around that isn't flirting with me or acting jealous." I pause then give a smile and a nod. "Sure." Soon the bell rings and we gather our stuff before heading to the cafeteria. We each grab a lunch and head over to Bella's table she sitting down and motioning for me to sit down. I can see the others looking startled especially Mike and Jessica. "Um no offense but what's little Cullen doing here?" I give them a slight look. "Bella invited me." They give Bella a weird look before Mike smirks and moves closer. "Your names Jay correct?" I give a little nod. "Yeah." He suddenly grins at me a mischievous look on his face. "Your a girl right? I mean you don't change with us or even enter the locker room so you must be a girl. Plus you look like one." I suddenly freeze my fork dropping to the tray with a loud clang. Suddenly shaking I grab my bag stand up and mumble before walking off. "I'll talk to you later Bella." I head for the door and again just start running until I reach the la push beach. I sit down on a piece of wood and immediately start to cry brokenly. After a moment I hear footsteps and jump when I feel a hand on my shoulder quickly looking up in defense but relax when I see Seth. I give him a tiny smile a worried expression on his face. "Are you okay?" I look down at the sand saying softly. "No I got humiliated at school." I immediately make my voice mocking a grimace on my face. "Your a girl right? You don't change with us so your a girl and you look like one!" I kick at a rock angrily. "I hate school!" Seth moves closer and hugs me I tensing for a minute before slowly hugging him back sniffling. "I hate it Seth I wish I could just go to school with you." He slowly pulls away giving me a sad smile before perking up. "You know what you need? A good old fashioned beach party. We always have one. We tell stories, roast marshmallows and just hang around a big fire." I look at him in shock. "Am I allowed?" He just laughs at me. "Of course your allowed silly. Jake is bringing Bella so I'm gonna bring you." I unconsciously blush and immediately curse my inner gay thoughts. "Alright when is it?" He jumps up and down excitedly like a hyper puppy. "Yes! It's tonight at six! So go get ready and meet me at the road at five thirty. I smile and nod getting up and start to walk off before calling behind me. "Thanks for cheering me up Seth!" He just chuckles. "That's what best friends are for!" I grin and run off heading back to school happily my mind filled with thoughts of Seth.
