Suddenly he turned, and looked down at her. His green eyes sparkled in the moonlight. A small smile played upon his lips and those beautiful green eyes looked down to meet hers. His warm hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Her breath hitched in her throat. He was close. Closer than he'd been before. At least, like this.

"Lene..." he whispered, "you're so beautiful. Did I ever tell you that?" Marlene drew in a shaky breath.

"I-" she began, but he cut her off. He placed his other hand on her cheek and she felt her face grow hot.

"Can I kiss you?" he asked tenderly. She blushed furiously and softly spoke.

"Yes." she said, quietly, trying to ignore the sound of her heart pounding in her ears. It was so loud she was sure he could hear it yet her thoughts were cut off as he leaned forward and his soft lips met hers. Her eyelids fluttered closed as she leaned into his kiss.

She had dreamed about this moment for so long, denying it every time that the thought arose. Yet here she was, her lips pressed against his. He slowly pulled away and smiled down at her, blushing in the darkness. Her eyes met his as they both leaned in for a second kiss.
