For the next month, Nayeon barely spoke.

She felt her bubbly and outgoing personality slowly melt into a quiet and introverted one, just like Mina. She could feel herself drifting away from Jeongyeon, while Jeongyeon and Jimin became even closer.

Nayeon never told anyone about her real feelings, apart from Mina who already knew, and when asked, she would simply say that she say tired out from studying.

Jeongyeon noticed everything.

She saw how Nayeon flinched whenever she stood too close to Jimin, and how her best friend had rejected playdates with her. Most importantly, she saw the mutual, new bond between Nayeon and Mina, who seemed to understand her mood than she herself did.

---------------------------------------

One day in March, when spring was starting to blossom, Jeongyeon managed to request for a private talk with Mina, whom she knew Nayeon trusted more than her.

Even though she felt a bit jealous of Mina for having a strong friendship with Nayeon despite knowing her for a short time, she knew it was Nayeon's sake.

"So, Mina, I would like to talk about Nayeon," Jeongyeon began, while sitting on a bench in a less crowded area of the school. "Recently, I've been noticing that Nayeon hasn't been her usual self and she's quite moody lately. Since she trusts you, I thought you might have an idea about her situation."

Mina's eyes darted sideways and she bit her lip, "Jeongyeon-unnie, I actually know, but I'm not sure if Nayeon unnie would like me to tell you, since it's you that she's mad about."

Jeongyeon looked flabbergasted. She's mad about me? What did I do do hurt her like this? "Please tell me," she insisted, "As her friend, it's my responsibility to make her happy."

Mina took a deep breath, knowing that Jeongyeon has hit the bull's eye, and flashed a Nayeon-don't-kill-me look, "Her mood started changing drastically on the day when Jimin tricked all of us: The day when we met on the rooftop."

They both exchanged an awkward chuckle as they remembered Jeongyeon's pinning against the wall.

"I was on the patio with Nayeon at that time, that time when we saw Jimin kiss you. (Jeongyeon's cheeks coloured slightly) She then confessed to me that she was jealous of you that you got Jimin, the boy she had gotten her eyes on since last year when she first transferred here. (Jeongyeon's eyebrows raised)

She was frustrated about you because she thought you were equals: You two could have a fair, equal start for love. The only thing that Nayeon wants is love, and so she thinks you have an unfair advantage over her."

-----------------------------------

Jeongyeon didn't know how to react.

All that time, she thought Nayeon was stressing herself over schoolwork, but she wasn't. Nayeon was slowly losing herself because of her. And Jeongyeon felt guilty after knowing the truth.

Mina told her wisely, "If you want to fix her, you should give her wants she wants. Oh, no," she added hastily, when she saw Jeongyeon's piercing eyes, "I'm not telling you to give up Jimin for her. Just set her up on a blind date or something." Mina then got up and left

Jeongyeon's brain was throbbing.

She needed to get a boy to love Nayeon quickly. She couldn't afford to have her best friend draining herself because of her unspoken jealousy towards her. She spent the whole day thinking what to do. Finally, she had no choice but to call him.

Jeongyeon had been holding back from calling him for more than a year, but she had no choice now. She punched in a phone number that she could never forget into her phone, and the person picked up immediately.

He, in a seductive voice, said, "Hey babe."
