"Wʜᴀᴛ time are you coming over Seomin?" My mother asked my sister who was on the phone, while rushing to turn the pot on the stove off.

Today is what some may call a special day.

My sister was coming to visit.

She moved away 8 years ago, and haven't visited in about 3 years. Those were to me the best three years of my life.

She's coming back home for a celebration only this time she isn't visiting alone—she's bringing her family along with her.

What makes today so extra special is that since we haven't seen or spoken to her husband since their wedding five years ago. This would be our first official encounter.

Well for me at least.

I tend to avoid all that pertains to my sister and her life. She is the reason my life is what it is now.

I could've met him years ago but at that time I was living in a jail cell courtesy of my ever loving sister.

"Jinyoung! Quickly go get cleaned up they'll be here any moment!" My mother loves my sister, well at least more than she loves her other children.

"Of course mommy" I replied leaving to head towards my mini apartment.

I on the other hand love my mother more than I love anything in the world. Which is exactly why I ended up in prison.

My room was in the basement, it contained all my things, all utilities except for a kitchen.

As I walked into my bedroom my phone pinged. I pulled it out to see I got a message from my brother saying that he just picked the desserts and wants me to meet him to help him bring it in.

I rushed to the shower knowing that the drive from the bakery isn't that long. Especially since Hyunwoo drives like he's a street racer.

By the time I finished dressing my phone started to ring again so I rushed out to help bring the things inside.

"Hurry up Junior she's almost here, is mom finished cooking?" He ushered out closing the front door heading to the kitchen to put the food in his arms away. "I'm not sure. She was finishing up when I went to get ready. Do you have it?" I asked trailing after him.

"Yeah in the bag in my car—this is the last time." He said in a hushed whisper moving to give our mother a kiss on the cheek.

"Last time Hyunnie." I said heading back to my room.

Observing the small purple box I stuffed it under my bed behind an old shoe box, praying to god that my mother doesn't go searching under there for any reason.

"Seomin! Welcome Home!"

So she's here. I could feel my throat clenching. I haven't seen her in so long I'm not even sure she knows I'm out. I exhaled a shaky sigh rolling my eyes while trying to mentally prepare myself to deal with life.

I exited my door a couple minutes later. Following the sound of laughter to the kitchen.

As I walked pass the threshold I felt a small body knock into my knees causing them to buckle and me to fall knocking the wind out of my lungs.

I laughed hugging Daehyun my 6 year old nephew, no one knows who is father was, seeing that at the time of her pregnancy Seomin was not in a relationship with her husband, yet somehow she managed to  pass him off as his son, which is why they got married.

"Daehyun! You got so big since I last saw you!" I exclaimed lifting him into my arms. "Yeah! The last time I saw you you were in the tiny room! How did you get out of the tiny room?" He asked playing with the loose string on my sweater.

The air in the room became tense following his question, it seemed like my preseance has ruined the mood. I gave Daehyun a small smile, caressing his messy hair.

"I'll tell you when your older, yeah? I have a suprise for you its in grandmas' room." A loud gasp fell from his lips as excitement filled his face. Without wasting another second he took off towards my mothers room where his present was.

"Ehm, Jinyoung greet your sister."

"Nice seeing you again Seomin, sorry I wasnt able to come visit you for a few years." I greeted, trying my hardest to keep my face calm.

"Its not like I expected much from you, afterall prison doesn't give days off now does it?" She replied smugly.

"Seomin!" Hyunwoo exclaimed disappointment apparent in his voice.

"There's no use sugarcoating it is there Hyunwoo? He's a jail bird. And I don't understand why mother allowed him back in the house, he's practically a danger to you all. Maybe he'll snap and kill you in your sleep, just like what he did to f—"

"ENOUGH SEOMIN! We are here to celebrate you. Not to talk about the past or criticize your brother! Jinyoung can you just—"

"Sure mother. I'll see you all tomorrow. It was nice seeing you again Seomin." I said, heading towards the front door.

As I was bout to exit the bell rang, that must be her husband. I sighed grabbing my coat wondering where I was going to sleep for the night.

On the other side of the door stood a man, one who looked as if he was carved by god himself.

"I'm sorry, is this the Park household? I'm Im Jaebum—Seomins husband."
