A thunder cracked the sky as a car stopped on the abandoned hotel. It was dark, lifeless and had an aura as something sinister was lurking in its corridors. A man came out of the car; he wore a long black coat, his hair styled back and a golden ring flashed for a moment in his right hand. He rushed towards the hotel's entrance. He entered and saw the destruction caused by the time, furniture were destroyed and rotted away and graffiti on the walls containing words that made no sense, short poems and freaky images, darkness emitted from the long corridors that sent chills up the man's spine. He pulled out his phone and chose one of the contacts then let it ring, after a while a woman's voice was heard from the other side, "I am here" the man said "it's as if it was described, a shithole in the middle of nowhere, I will begin immediately" he said sharply and closed the phone.

He searched inside his pockets and found a flashlight; he turned it on and shed light on the dark corridors casting shadows on the molded walls that looked like nightmarish creatures were prowling inside the hotel. With his other arm he pulled out a big silver gun with thorns engraving its body. He walked carefully and slowly among the debris the fell from the ceiling covering the ground which made it harder to walk through. He reached the stairs and looked up, he saw a void of nothingness, he sighed and started making his way up. When he reached the 7th floor he started looking for the room he was supposed to look into, room 798. As he navigated the narrow dark corridors he felt anxiousness rushing in. He shook the feeling but it came back even stronger when a crack was heard from behind him, he turned around and pointed with both his flashlight and gun but it was nothing there. He didn't know if he should feel relief of start running, he relaxed his body and continued searching for the room.

As he turned a chill wind howled in the dead corridors that startled him, he gathered his thought and whispered "Come on man, get it together" as he moved closer to room 798. He finally found it, the door was half open. He pushed the door that cricked as it opened. He shed light inside the room, the same picture as the rest of the hotel, destroyed furniture, molded walls, a ceiling that was barely standing and appeared as if would collapse any minute. He entered the room slowly looking around. He knew what he was searching, an old safe containing the papers of the ownership to the hotel. He entered the bedroom and saw the safe behind a half rotted painting. He holstered his gun and dragged the painting away. The safe's condition was as if it was still newly bought, something that the man found interesting. He pulled out a paper and matched the combination that it was written, a crack was heard and the safe opened sending a loud whisper that echoed all through the empty and wet corridors of the hotel. He looked around terrified but his greed quickly overcame his fear, he took the papers and started reading them, each page made his face grew ever happier, he had the papers, the hotel belonged to him.

"You shouldn't be here" a voice was heard from behind him making his body shock from fear, he let out a shout and turned around pulling the gun from his coat. It was a woman, dressed in white, her skin pale, her eyes and hair black as the abyss. "Who- who are you?" the man managed to say, the woman looked at him but didn't answer. "I asked who you are?" the man screamed his voice filled with terror, the woman approached him and he shot her three times. After the echo from the gunshots faded away and he opened his eyes she was still there, unharmed. "What the fuck" he said, terror had now gripped his whole body, he was shaking and cold sweat was running down his spine. "I am me" she said as she came closer to the man "and you are trying to get something that doesn't belong to you, a thief" she said for a brief moment her expression became nightmarish. "I am not stealing, I own it now the papers are mine" he said as he showed her the bundle of documents. She looked at them and in an instant the files were ablaze burning his hand leaving them to fall to the ground. "No" he screamed and fired the rest of his bullets but it didn't faze her. He kept clicking on the trigger but his gun was without bullets, his face filled with terror. She stepped closer and caressed his cheek, a cold feeling engulfed his soul as if all hope was gone from the world and only sorrow and death remained. "You will join the others" she said and grabbed the man's face with both her hands, the man screamed as he never did before.

A thunder split the sky and rain started falling as if the heavens opened up. The hotel was again empty and lifeless, its corridors dark and moldy. Any sign that someone was there minutes ago had vanished into oblivion. Even the man's car disappeared from the parking lot. The sound of dripping could be heard in such way that made the hotel feel as if it was alive. Another thunder split the sky, the image of the woman appeared on the window overlooking the road from the room 798 a light appeared on the distance. Her face expressionless, she turned around from the window and vanished into nothingness, she would wait there for her next victim, the next living soul that would try to take the hotel away from her.
