Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
My alarm clock woke me up, from it's constant ringing. I slowly picked myself out of my bed, tripping over the covers in that process. I untangled myself, and dragged myself to the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, I stripped my pajamas off, throwing them on the toilet seat. Setting the shower temperature to just warm, I began to wash my hair and body, while singing the song Titanium.
"You shout it out
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud not saying much
I'm criticized
But all your bullets ricochet
Shoot me down, but I get upI'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire awayYou shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titaniumCut me down
But it's you who'll have further to fall
Ghost town and haunted love
Raise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud not saying muchI'm bulletproof-"
"Hurry up!" Leroy knocks on the door. "We're going to be late!"
I hurry up and finish taking a shower, wrapping myself in a towel as I run out of the bathroom. Putting on a crop top that says "love", I try and wiggle my legs into a ripped pair of dark denim shorts. Being successful, I pulled on my white converse, and rushed to the kitchen. Leroy tossed me a granola bar, as I grabbed my small canvas backpack. Both of us rushed out to the 2012 Camaro, with Leroy driving and I in the passenger seat. Upon arriving at school, we both jump out of the car and rush to the office, not caring about the curious glances the other students are giving us. I almost crashed into Axel, managing to swiftly maneuver around him as he gave me a surprised look.
"Corny?" he said. "I didn't know you went here."
"I just moved here!" I yelle over my shoulder, trying to catch up with Leroy. "I'll see you later!"
Leroy and I arrived, panting, in the office. The secretary of the office gave us a shocked look, and smiled uncertainly. "Um, hello... How are you guys doing?"
"We're new here," Leroy panted. "My sister Lele and I need our schedules, so we can get to class before the bell rings."
Ringggg
"Ughh," I pouted. "We ran all the way here for nothing!"
"So, can we get our schedules please?" Leroy asked. "And a late pass, please."
"Of course!" the secretary said. "Your last name, please?"
"Johnson, ma'am."
"Oh, no need for the ma'am treatment. Call me Mrs. R." Mrs. R. finished printing out the schedules, and handed us each one, along with a pink slip, saying that we're new and for us to be excused.
I glanced at my schedule, and saw that there were 8 periods.
Math
English
Health
Science
Lunch
Study Hall
French
Social Studies
Ugh. Really? Math as the first subject? Sure, I'm good at school, but it's way too early to function. Mrs. R. peered at my schedule, and exclaimed happily, "Oh good! You're in that team with all of the nice teachers! You'll love all of your teachers, they're all very sweet."
