Prom dress

Serena, a girl sitting down on her queen sized royal like bed, crying covering her face with her hands. Knowing she was just manipulated by her friends, and her boyfriend. Her yellow iphone 11 beside her, starts playing prom dress by mxmtoon.

'I'm nearing the end of my fourth year. I feel like I've be lacking, crying to many tears'

Tears run down from her face, ruining her makeup. She wiped them with her hand and continued sobbing. She reminisced the good times with her friends, the romantic date with her boyfriend. Then came back to reality and remembered, they were fake. She stood up and went to the bathroom, without closing the door, still hearing prom dress playing.

'Everybody seemed to say it was so great, but did I miss out? was it a huge mistake?'

She remembered her excitement for prom last month. She imagined that day as she washed her face.
"Serena, i'm so excited for prom!"Keisha said as she applied a sweet light pink blush, "Me too, ugh, I can't wait to dance with him" Serena said while imagining twirling while holding a brush near to her mouth to act as a microphone. Keisha glanced at her and scoffed "Oh please, I still have to find my prince charming ya know?" She said with a sassy tone and went back to putting her makeup on. "And i'm finished, lets go to the mall for some gowns. We gotta look extra stunning for prom." She said as she walked over to Serena's closet to borrow one of her clothes, they both were the same size after all. Serena on the other hand, was already dressed. She wore a hot pink satin bodycon and shimmering translucent heels. She went to her dresser and took her pink Versace quilted purse and wore it on her shoulder. "Is Mary gonna join?" Serena asked while she opens her iphone and goes on messages. "Mhm" Keisha said while doing her hair, making it wavy. Keisha always had thick and voluminous blonde hair. While Serena had smooth straight blonde hair with a shade of sunflower.

Mary, keisha and Serena went shopping, wearing different types of clothes. They had so much fun, Mary decided with a starry lavender A-line dress. It was made with lace or nylon with polyester, short sleeves, undergarment covering the chest and a diamond finish. It suited her blonde hair with a shade of chai. Keisha decided with a
flower fairy sky blue dress with off-the-shoulder short sleeves with flower beading chapel and train ruffle backless. For Serena, she got a Gold sequins dress with spaghetti straps and it is backless.

They were already in the cashier, about to pay for their clothes when Mary asked Serena "Hey, could you buy my dress for me? Don't worry you can afford it, I mean your parents are very rich" she asked as she gave her the dress to her arms. Serena gave a worried look and looked at Keisha, looking to see an expression of disagreement, but she was nodding as well with a smile "Yeah Serena, pay my dress as well" she said, doing the same and giving her dress to Serena's arms. Serena remembered what her mother said, to "Let your friends pay what they want, even if we are rich, or live in a luxurious life, decline. Pay what you want and walk away from them" she remembered that with her mother speaking it with a sassy tone. 'Sorry mother, just once. I don't want to lose them' Serena thought and sighed "Okay okay, i'll pay them"

She gave the dresses to the cashier, the cashier scanned their barcodes. "The total is $13,500" the cashier said with an optimistic voice, as she stared at Serena. Serena, well, was shocked. You can see it well from her face, her jaw dropped and her eyebrows widened. Serena knew too well that her mother and father would be mad and disappointed but at the same time she wanted to keep her friends happy and to stick with her. She took her purse and opened it to get her card, she hesitated for a while and thought of it. She thought to tell them to split the payment, each person would pay $4,500, including her. So she looked at them as she placed her card back and closed the purse, "why don't we, split the payment? Each of us would pay $4,500"  Keisha was fine with it and nodded "Sure, seems fair to me.", Serena was happy. However, Mary didn't want to pay. She wanted to use Serena for her money. Even if she was rich as well. But she surrendered, she sighed "Fine" she said while rolling her eyes. Serena clearly knew she wanted her to pay the whole thing, but she was relieved that she didn't.
