After a long time, Thomas finally seemed to recover from his unconsciousness. He could hear clearly again, but fatigue still weighted on his eyelids.
Little by little, he slowly opened his eyes. He heard bickering from some engines but it soon died down as Kevin's voice piped up, "Look! He's waking up!"
Victor looked over and approached Thomas with a soft smile on his face. "Hello there, Thomas. I hope you're feeling slightly better."
He looked around and noticed that he was at the Steam Works, making confusion build up within him. "What am I doing here? What happened?"
"Well..." Victor hesitated. "You've bashed over a tree laying on the tracks and then derailed. You suffered some damage but the most glaring was on your left tank, since you crashed laying on it."
Thomas shook his head understandingly but then groaned as a sharp pain hit his boiler.
"Oh, and your boiler is slightly damaged too so you maybe will feel this pain once in a while." disclosed Victor, "I'm afraid to say you won't be puffing for a few days my friend."
"But luckily an engine will be with you while you're on repairs!" Kevin chimed in as he clumsily whizzed towards them.
"And who is i-
"Thomas!" Ashima's voice echoed as she approached them. "Oh I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Oh, h-hey Ashima!" Thomas smiled as he blushed slightly. "Yeah, I'm ok. Just feeling some pain but I'm ok." He chuckled.
"Since Ashima brought you here she's been waiting for you to wake up." Victor pointed out, "She felt very worried for you I could tell." He then chuckled as Thomas blushed harder.
"So you were here all along?" He questioned the pink engine.
"Of course, I didn't want to leave you alone." chuckled Ashima, then a loud thunder sound was heard catching everyone's attention.
"Not wanting to ruin the fun but the snow storm is going to happen. So Ashima, you better leave if you want to take shelter soon." stated Victor.
"No, no. I'll be here with Thomas. Edward told me to make company to him so that's what I'm going to do." She smiled softly.
Victor was hesitant at first but then shook his head in understanding. He puffed away to solve some stuff whilst Kevin kept on with his clumsy manner by crashing over places.
Now the two tank engines were alone. Silence surrounded them, making audible the whizzle of a strong gale and the trees' leaves shaking from outside the building.
Ashima looked over at Thomas, and noticed he was feeling upset. She frowned slightly before inquiring, "What's wrong?"
"It's just that I was careless and because of that I won't be able to puff for a few days..." Thomas sighed as he looked down at his buffers.
"Well, it wasn't your fault. You were just zoned out, I guess. I already had accidents because of this as well." commented Ashima.
Thomas looked up at Ashima and smiled softly, feeling somewhat better with her statement.
"Anyway, what was you thinking about that made you so stuck on your train of thoughts?" She suddenly questioned.
Thomas' smile faded as he slightly jumped, caught off guard. He hesitated for a second, and then replied, "I... don't wanna talk about it..."
He knew that since they were alone, it was the perfect opportunity to spill out his feelings. However, he didn't do it. Not by his fear, but because he felt it wasn't time yet.
