it had been later in the day, tsukishima and yamaguchi had been in the cafe talking on his lunch break.

sugawara had kept winking at tsukishima, mouthing 'good catch' or 'he's cute'.

the tall blond male had blushed over the things his friend had said, tsukishima knows he will never regret the day of staying at the night shift.

because then he would had never had his small argument with yamaguchi, or have the freckled boy drag him out to ice skate.

sure he was catching feelings for him.

but he wasn't too sure about his feelings.

hell was tsukishima stupid or what, yamaguchi had been crushing on him since the first year of high school.

yamaguchi had complained to him how his house looked terribly bland.

tsukishima obviously got offended, "hey i never go all out on celebrating christmas-" he said, getting cut off.

"well you are now!"

"sugawara! can tsukki get the rest of the day off, im trying to force him back into liking christmas" tadashi said, smiling, as the blond groaned.

"oooo of course yamaguchi, now scram tsukishima! have fun with your 'friend'" sugawara said, going to take another customers order.

"best friend!" yamaguchi exclaimed, looking over to see tsukishima send him a forced smile.

the two had gone back to tsukishima's house, before that they went to the store to buy multiple christmas decorations.

yamaguchi knocked on the door, seeing tsukishima slightly struggle with the decorations.

they had bought a lot of lights so he wasnt surprised.

after knocking he went back to help the taller blond, seeing him drop a box of lights in the snow, "it wasnt me-"

"that was all you, you liar!"

sakura had heard a knock on the door, confused to who it could be.

she opened it, seeing no one, yet heard talking nearby, looking over to see kei and some boy smiling at one another, the shorter male putting small piles of snow on his head.

sakura smirked, knowing she could tease her son about this later.

"come on in you two it's freezing!" she said, the two looking over, tsukishima blushing as tadashi laughed, the two walking inside.

"hello tadashi! oh how it's been so long since i last saw you!" she said, finally recognizing the mystery boy, smiling to the both of them.

"nice to see you again mrs. tsukishima!" yamaguchi said, getting pulled into a hug.

"oh just call me sakura, tadashi!" she said, smiling at her son looking down at them.

"and hello to you too kei" sakura said, rolling her eyes, giggling right after with yamaguchi.

"im clearly laughing mom, anyways we have decorations-" tsukishima said getting cut off by his mom.

"don't tell me you had tadashi pay for them!" his mom said, her eyes widening.

"no mrs. tsukishima! i just helped him out on choosing" he said reassuring her, seeing her slightly calm down right after.

"well alright, lets get decorating!" she said cheerfully, seeing the two laugh in response.

the three had been talking about multiple things, well really just yamaguchi and sakura, tsukishima joining in from time to time.

then they had heard a knock on the door, "i'll get it, keep decorating!" tsukishima's mom said, walking over to the door just to see her ex husband.

"oh great, it's you" she said groaning, haru, tsukishima's father had walked in to see the the green-haired boy wrapping lights around his son, the two laughing, slightly getting closer to eachother.

he groaned, dragging sakura to the kitchen, "slow your ass down haru, what is it now?" sakura asked, seeing him annoyed.

"i will not allow my son to be gay, sakura."

"hey! he's just following in his mama's footsteps" she said, seeing him annoyed.

"now i dont care what you say to him haru, you let our son be happy for once, alright? you are the one who took it all away from him hm?" sakura said, her ex husband rolling his eyes.

"now please tell me haru, where is my other son, you know, akiteru?" she asked, seeing him tense up at the question.

"see no answer, wonder why, its not like he cut off all contact with you right?" she commented, haru glaring at her.

"fun fact, he hasn't with me haha!" she said, skipping back to yamaguchi and tsukishima .

haru looked over in disgust, leaving this family for good.

"now that he's gone, lets get back to decorating!" tsukishima's mom cheered, seeing her son smile at her.

"fun fact kei, akiteru's dating a russian girl!"

"i'm sorry, what?"

"close your mouth tsukki, you're eating!" yamaguchi said, seeing him glare at him.

"i just wanna say, i will gladly be the flower girl at your guys wedding-"

"mom!-"

"hey it's not like i mind tsukishima-"

seeing the blond blush like crazy made both sakura and yamaguchi laugh, it had been an eventful day, well for tsukishima's mom.

but at the end they were all happy.

besides haru his car broke down, having to spend the night at a hotel.
