"Mummy, we're you going?" Skye questioned, gripping onto her mother's sleeve.

"Mummy has to go somewhere baby," Lenore explained, leaning down kissing her daughter's forehead.

"Jamie's coming over with Nero today, baby. Would you like that?"

"Yes, mummy!" Skye exclaimed, jumping around in joy. It's been a week since she last saw Nero. They've best friends for 6 years.

Just that second a loud knock on the front door caught Skye's attention. She ran over to it but by the time she was halfway, her older sister Talia was already there. Talia was five years older than Skye. Talia opened the door to see Jamie and Nero standing at the door.

Jamie was tanned and built, he had brown straight hair and light brown eyes. His son Nero had full, fluffy white hair, also tanned, and had dark chocolate eyes. Nero had suffered from a rare case of albinism in his hair, while it's not common it usually happens only in the skin and the eyebrows.

"Hi Tali," Nero said as he hugged his second-best friend tightly, letting the nickname roll off his tongue naturally.

"Hi, Nero" she laughed as she hugged him back equally as tight.

"Sky-Sky" he yelled running and hugging his best friend.

"Hi Nero-zero" she yelled at him and hugged back.

"Daddy told me that he and your mum are going on a trip," Nero said pulling Skye into the living room.

"I know, mummy said the same thing," Skye said agreeing.

The two could hear their parents and Talia talking in the next room. From what they could tell, someone was yelling and some are sad. For the rest of it, the two just couldn't make it out, not that they could tell what their parents and Talia were saying anyway. They could just tell by the tone of their voices. After a few minutes of silence, Lenore and Jamie came into the living room where their kids sat patiently 'playing'.

"Hey buddy, I have to head off now," Jamie said taking Nero into his arms.

"How long will you be gone, daddy?" Nero questioned with an eyebrow raised.

"A few days Nero, don't worry. I'll be home before you know it." Jamie said gently kissing Nero's temple. The truth is that he didn't know when or if he was ever going to be able to see his son again.

"Mummy, please don't go" Skye begged as she held her mother tightly. Lenore sighed and smiled sweetly kissing Skye's cheek as the tears started to form in her eyes.

"Don't worry baby. I'll be home in a few days ok, I love you. Be good for daddy ok?" Lenore spoke softly gazing down at her daughter teary-eyed as she put her down.

"Ok mummy, see you soon," Skye said as she followed behind her mother, along with Nero who followed his father to the front door.

"We love you," Jamie and Lenore said, at the same time.

"Love you too," Nero and Skye said back.

Talia took the two by the hands; hugged them, and started whispering comforting words in their ears.

Seconds turned to minutes. Minutes turned to hours. Hours turned to days. Days turned to months. Still no sign of their parents.

It's been ten years...
