Astrid Hofferson is an orphan who is adopted by her Uncle Fin. They move to a new town called Berk and for the first time, her uncle puts her in school. She will make new friends, develop feelings for a special someone and go through drama that she never experienced before.

Astrid Hofferson's father is abusive. After a while, her mother gets strong enough to leave him and takes Astrid with her. Months past and her mom begins to date again, only for the man to become abusive. Astrid grows up to start liking and dating bad boys and she allows them to hurt her, because that's all she's ever really seen a guy do. She attends a new school after moving into a new house with her mom and settling in. She meets a boy named Hiccup and thinks, 'Why would he be any different?'

Hiccup moves back to Berk City. Hiccup transfer to Berk High where he meets this girl name Astrid, they've met before since they were kids and never forgotten each other. A lot of high school drama, and crazy things happening but a lot of Hiccstrid moments. But the story goes on until they are young adults, getting through challenges in life and facing very tough obstacles and also Hiccstrid for life. I cannot see that day in the forseeable future, but I know it will come, and I know somehow it is connected to my enemy. *I know that it is an over-used story line but I tried to spice it up a little. Kinda like how you may always eat a Chicken Masala and then you try a Vindaloo - they're both food and both curries but one is different from the other* There are extra chapters at the end containing side-stories of this book. It will make more sense when you read the chapter titled: 'The little boat' near the end of the book, but the actual story is 60 chapters long.

this is a story about hiccup running away when he had to kill the monstrous nightmare. i know that a lot of these storys start the same way but i'm now changing what happened in that battle ring that day. this book wont be like any of the run away books. there will be some hiccstrid and some deep emotion in this book.
