"I want you to stay with me," Her voice was clouded with tears, "I don't want you to leave again."
"I won't leave you, not really." He tried to keep his voice steady, but she knew he was hurting as much as she was.
"But for how long does it have to be like this? It's just not fair."
He pulled her into his arms, "Next time, we'll solve it next time."
"And what if we don't? What if this cycle is eternal? What if you can't ever be let go?"
He held her close without saying a word. He didn't know what to say, what would make everything better. And even if he had known, he didn't know if he physically could say anything more. As he felt the feeling of unconsciousness starting to overwhelm him, his grip around her started to loosen.
Before he finally slipped into complete darkness, he heard her last words to him, "Please just don't play it next time."
