Growing up in one of the outlying villages of District 10, Autumn does not experience either the beauty or wealth of the Capitol, but she also does not experience the complete and utter poverty that others face. Her life consists of moving the herds of cattle from one grazing ground to another, and of hunting and living off the land. She doesn't ever have to think about the Capitol for almost the entire year. Except for one day out of the year, the Reaping Day. This year, her name is called as a Tribute. She finds herself thrown into an entirely strange new world, where survival seems all but impossible.
