Jane Chatwin often wonders if she has gone insane. She's used her magical powers to create a time loop in order for her tools, six students from Brakebills, to battle the Beast. They have died time and time again fighting this magical monstrosity, who happens to be her twin brother Martin. Yet she sends them into battle expecting a different result each time. Yes. She must be mad by now.

What if after 1x10 Lizzie found a way to regain her memories without Jinni's knowledge? What if she found a place that she belongs? Is her family going to miss her? This is my interpretation of what happened in the 16th timeloop that Quentin and his friends are stuck in, and their subsequent battle with the Beast.

Challenge: create a 1,500 word short story telling us about one of the other times Quinton and his friends battled the Beast. I introduce Luna.

When Quentin goes to Dean Fogg for the 22nd time he has more than truth serum up his sleeve. New questions get asked and a more cynical take on events becomes clear. Jane never simply resets the loop... she changes other things too. (An entry for SyFy's 'Battle The Beast' contest )
