Eyo it's me, back at it again with the dumb rare-pair fanfic! Ok sorry about the dumb damn Daniel reference, I've been rewatching a lot of SaltyDKDan videos. Anyways this is a fanfic that follows L and Matsuda in an au where Light is taken down before the time-skip, and now the Kira Catching Squad has disbanded, for the most part, as L and Matsuda still work together, doing cases with each other, and living together. This is going to be slightly serious, I'm going to try to make it slightly serious at least, but there will be fluff. Also there will be spoilers for the anime up until the time-skip. Also, also I probably won't mention the Watari orphanage much, since I don't feel like writing those boys, and sorry if there's any inconsistencies with the manga I haven't read it. Y/n doesn't know how she did it but somehow she managed to wake up in the Deathnote universe. There are a few smalls problems with this, considering she doesn't know how to get back to her reality and apparently she's Light's best friend. She also knows exactly how all this bullshit ends and wants no part in it. Too bad the universe likes torturing her. Easy enough, she'll torture the universe right back. I used to be lexaproaddict btw.

Psyche has roamed the earth, half-human half-shinigami, a death note close to her at all times, working under the police as a criminal psychologist. Ironic. Psyche has been struggling with balancing her life in the police force and also her nightmares of a shadow realm of bones and ash convincing her to embrace who she is. Her reputation with the chief isn't exactly the best, her best friend Matsuda dragging her along to keep her in the field along side him. As the news breaks out about the serial killer Kira, she suspects the worst that a shinigami had infiltrated the human realm for the next host of a death note. As the mysterious L is on the case, Psyche will have to balance being part of the police and the host of a death note, keeping herself from being noticed in fear for the crimes of Kira being placed on her head. As she gains the trust from her peers, will she be able to keep her secret or will she have to turn to use the death note as the only way to gain the upper hand?
