The roof was my gate away place. I came there when I was at my worst. I would light a cigarette and overthink my life. I could stay there for hours, gazing and taking in the sight of New York City. Everytime I would tell myself "this is my last time here" and everytime it was a lie. On one of those days, everything changed. On one of those days, a stranger invaded my space. On one of those days, I wasn't alone anymore.
