After following into his father's footsteps as a NASCAR driver, Mac Harris longs for something else; similar to racing, but something a little bit different. His brother (being a mechanic) feels under-appreciated by both him and their father, putting the two in a rocky relationship. After going to an X Games show, Mac meets a daredevil named Trent Kramer and is taken under the latter's wing. On that note, he meets Kramer's crew, one of which is a Japanese American named Yuki. But unlike the other crew members, she doesn't give him the welcome wagon. And it's not because she's resentful, it's because she knows that the system is morally grey.

On a school holiday in the Scotish Highlands, Katie discovers she has an unusual talent which draws her towards a mysterious island that nobody else can see. There she finds herself in a much more primitive world, a world of flame and sword, with much simpler rules: prosper or fail; dominate or submit; live or die. After a couple of years of writing in other genres, I return to my original love, Epic Fantasy. Unlike many of my other books, this one is suitable for teenage readers with a 'Harry Potter' level of violence and menace.

Of course. Another story about a man dying and being reborn in a fantasy world, gaining powers, the attention of the Gods and... Wait a minute. Is it really that simple? Be reborn and become a hero all at once? Possess knowledge and automatically defeat all enemies? Be noticed by the Gods and get the meaning of life? Sounds beautiful. But frankly, it's doubtful. This is not a story of triumphant ascent. It's a journey where battles aren't always victories, losses aren't always worthy, and tears are not weakness. Everyone walks their own path. The only question is: do you really want to hear about it?
