"In Escape from North Korea, readers are drawn into a poignant journey of courage, survival and the unstoppable pursuit of freedom. It's about young Tam, his family and a fishing family who plan and carry out an escape from North Korea's repressive regime. However, this fictional story offers much more than just a detailed description of the escape; it also provides a deep insight into the daily lives of North Koreans and reveals the truth behind the scenes. (While the story is not written by a Korean refugee, it is based heavily on experiences shared by North Korean refugees.)
