A wolf with golden eyes.... Curse or blessing? Wolves with golden eyes only appeared in Spirit Wolves. Ancient beings born directly from the Moon Goddess. But they were more wolf than human. Feral. Dangerous. Unpredictable. Wild. These wolves could feel people's true emotions and see through lies. They could see the true intentions of person and when someone's past clung to them. When the line ended over a thousand years ago, people were relieved. No one expected they'd ever come back. Nyra was born with golden eyes. Her pack, her parents were horrified. Nyra grew up to be exactly as expected. Wild, unpredictable, dangerous, feral... But no one saw what was beneath all of that. A protective, compassionate soul who just wanted to be seen as more than a monster. She went rogue at age 16 after she shifted and almost killed a pack member. No one ever heard from her again... Silver eyes... It is said they are sacred. The bridge to fate itself. They are mated with golden eyes. While golden eyes are wild, silver are calm. They were respected, as they were the only ones who could keep the golden eyed wolves grounded. But they died out the same time as the golden eyed wolves. Miles was born too early, weak, fragile. No one thought he'd even survive to adulthood. But not only was he born premature and sickly, he was born with silver eyes. His parents, sister, and his pack were shocked and afraid. This meant that somewhere, a wolf with golden eyes had been born. But what would this mean for Miles? He was fragile. She was wild. Rejection would destroy them both. Their souls are permanently intwined. If something happened, they couldn't fall in love again or receive a second chance mate. Once they mark one another, there's no going back. One life, one bond, one mate. Forever.

It wasn't something I had planned on, wasn't even something I wanted. I looked out at them, each one of them filling my head with memories of days gone by, and my heart pounding with each happy picture that they could all paint for me, if I would only give them that chance. I thought that in life, once a door was closed, that it would be closed forever. In that way, it would make it much easier to move on from such highs and lows. But my ghosts of lovers past have come to haunt me and beg for my very heart and soul. How could I choose? Who do I choose? Will it be the boy who threw his arm around me and held me close as rain poured down on us as I cried into his dirt stained t-shirt? Will it be the one who loved me enough to not shred my heart by being with anyone else until I found someone else? The one who lay with me on a sandy beach and watched the stars and satellites dance in front of our eyes, while my heart danced away in his voice? Can I go back to the hardest love I've ever had? I can't deny that there will always be a part of me that longs for Cole. I've spent nearly a decade of my life with him, we have a family. But we are so opposite, like fire and ice, he melts every part of me, and I never can seem to be enough to darken his flames. He will always take every part of me. What about my second chance, with my unicorn? Do I pass up this gift that God, the universe....fate....whatever you'd like to say has given me? Someone who is kind, and gentle and mysterious. Can I even stop myself from falling for him all over again? I think about each one of them, my heart is so conflicted and my mind can't even begin to make sense of this path I'm on. Maybe I'm doomed to forever love them...All of them.

At 32, she has grown into the city's heartbeat, building a family, forging bonds, and falling in love with the very place she was meant to betray. But the contemporary world has no mercy. They promise her freedom if she delivers the last secret, yet deny her plea to save her Rosham-born family, branding them as enemies unworthy of life beyond the city's walls. Now trapped in Rosham, with no way in or out, Dawn faces an impossible choice: Reveal the last secret, destroy Rosham, and walk free-alone.
